theciderviking
Not directly festival related, but he is a Glasto stalwart, and what an absolute legend he is! From the £35 tickets, to really pulling out all the stops, as a fan it’s so nice to feel truly appreciated and respected by an artist. Some (like me) have made the decision not to watch any of this World Cup, others just have no interest in football but didn’t want to miss either Paul or Billy Bragg. Others want to watch the match but also don’t want to miss the gig. Many would just say “tough”, but Paul and the team have gone above and beyond to please as many people as they possibly can, and it’s truly commendable. 👏👏👏 Gutted to be missing Jacqui, but wishing her a speedy recovery…and it’s a great excuse to see them both next time! ❤️ Edited December 9, 2022 by theciderviking 3
TheGoodWillOut
saw him in brid last week without Jacqui, a fab gig, you'll have a great night. he is indeed a legend, so underrated and to put on footy and try to accommodate none footy watchers should be applauded. brettredmayne
I would love to see them on the pyramid once for a big singalong
Alvoram
Yeh fair play... Last week's match cost me a gig that I'd been looking forward to for months!!! (well, I could have gone alone, but didn't fancy it, there was supposed to be 4 of us. 😞)
Gnomicide
Don't mix football and music, I reckon. I'm watching Paolo Nutini tomorrow and See have taken the unusual step of emailing set times. Starts at 8:40. Be there or be watching England lose in a nearby pud. DeanoL
It's an awkward situation for them as they couldn't risk taking a hard line on it with Jacqui being ill. Otherwise they'd have had 1000s of refunds from footie fans who "really wanted to see Jacqui"

He is genuinely a very decent man.
Boomtowner
Was at the Sheffield show last night, a fantastic show, great setlist, enthusiastic singalongs. Only downside was a slightly static crowd. They would be an amazing act to have on the pyramid before Elton. brettredmayne
I know there have played on a number of stages, and presume the beautiful south played the pyramid. just couldn’t imagine a more perfect act Saturday afternoon on the pyramid with a few ciders. saw them in Newcastle last year and was such a happy night
Popsider75
Watched him on the Leftfield few years ago. It was deserted a few minutes before due on. Great barrier spec. Much rather watch him there than the pyramid.
maelzoid
Must be quite gratifying being a Paul Heaton fan these days. Kanye fans look on enviously…
Wherethewildthingsare
Top bloke. theciderviking
What a truly epic show! The crowd was a bit flat after the football result, but if only took a couple of songs to change that. Wow 🤩🕺🏻

Earlier that day, Paul Heaton (and Norman) played his first Glasto, with the Housemartins.

It was packed right out inside and out. I'd like to see them on a bigger stage.

I don’t regret that choice as feel I now understand Billie and her music a lot more (and the crowd around me were bouncing!) but glad to have caught Paul now. A Saturday/Sunday afternoon on the Pyramid would be incredible, and a great singalong. 🤞

Seem to remember it was muddy, wet and grey and I prefer them with a smaller crowd, more intimate. Have seen them several times on their own tours. Didn’t bother with the acoustic last year as thought it would be crowded and went with Kraungbin/Foals.
