  1. Wango Rileys stage in the Unfairground? May only have been there one year. I watched one of d*ck Lucas's (Subhumans)bands there think it was Culture Shock.
  2. I have always driven with a full water tank from the North West. Not the most efficient or best use of weight but saves dicking about on arrival! This year I'm staying at campsite in Glastonbury Town from Saturday so can fill up there before I make the short drive to WF.
  3. I thought my 22 was an achievement. 31 respect!
  4. I have got one in the re sale at least twice. Get in straight away and reckon you'll score one.
  5. I used to drive through the night from the North West and arrive on site about 5am Thursday. Last few times I did it in a tent we camped in Darble literally just inside Gate A. Was always plenty of room even after the festival started "proper" later in the week. Its a bit of a walk in but I reckon most only do it once a day and once back. Advantages are its high up if it rains and doesn't flood and once everyone is on site very little footfall past- and quiet of a night. Less of a hike if you are dragging a lot of gear. Also quick exit on Monday am. We also did the family camping a couple of times in Wicket closeby. (even though we strictly didn't have kids with us not young ones anyway). That was decent as well.
  6. Wont be able to make the Wednesday will have to take a chance with the Thursday am traffic.
  7. My first also 1995. Missed 97( cant recall why) and been every one since 1998.
  8. Hard to comment. Always managed a ticket legitimately so never come to the crunch. Not sure I would risk it too far to get disappointed. Used to going in the Motorhome last few years and pretty hard to blag that in and not going back to a tent!
  9. This is the one time I like to see money disappearing out of my account! Fully paid for me and the Missus so Im committed to my 22nd Glastonbury out of the last 23. Last one missed was 1997. My 3 mates also paid up so no returns from my group. East Campervans here we come on Tuesday after a weekend in Glastonbury town itself!
  10. Im in the camp that I don't really care who is topping the bill on the Pyramid. Of the 3 this year I have never heard two of them as for as I am aware. Still a lot of the bill to be revealed as yet. Lots of bands I am into would be classed as "lower ranking" but hoping at least a few of them make it somewhere along the way. Particularly hoping for Deja Vega, Egyptian Blue, Sprints, Deadletter, Bodega , Treeboy & Arc, Bilk and Sports Team. Also hoping that Damien Dempsey, Will Varley, Revered and The Makers added and some od punk would be good. We had the Damned on the Avalon last year. Be good to see Stranglers or Sham 69! There will be plenty going on away from the main stages.
  11. I knew plenty. Those songs are over 40 years old and he's been making music continuously. Cars sounds very out of place with most of his more recent output. He next tour is to celebrate Replicas and Pleasure Principle though so he will be doing all the old stuff. He is absolutely stunning live. I think most at Bearded were taken back by how heavy his music is. It's been very industrial for quite sometime now.
  12. I'm not overwhelmed by it so far but tend to be interested in the lower ranking stuff anyway. Rarely visit The Pyramid ( twice last year end of Cat Stevens/ Blondie and EJ). Only PJ Harvey caught the eye today. Hoping plenty of good stuff to come and especially on Acoustic, Avalon and Leftfield.
  13. None for me and two of them never heard and one never heard of!
  14. Have to say a fantastic line up for me lots and lots of stuff I like especially lower down the bill. Dry Cleaning, Panic Shack, Sprints, English Teacher,Chameleons, Jim Bob, Bodega, Michael Head, Penetration, BIS to name just a few away from the top billing. Always a great festival cannot wait!
  15. Yes indeed top set list. I'm afraid I gave up long before the end for reasons mentioned.
  16. Trawling my thread. You lot must be Codding me. Anyway thanks for the input and I do like a good chippy tea. I also know 2 of The Lancashire Hotpots who are from my town!
  17. I left Radiohead early and legged it to the Park for Flaming Lips. Not because they were boring but everyone stood near me couldn't seem to stop talking loudly through it and did my head in. I don't think Radiohead are everyone's cup of tea and it's certainly not pop music or filed under easy listening. I get people might not be keen so why stand talking all the way through it's not like there isn't 90 odd plus other stages to find something you like!
  18. I swerved him last time. Possible watch if he's on this year.
  19. I had a spell of leaving St. Helens Wednesday night at midnight and with a coffee stop on the way used to arrive at first light so maybe 4am-4.30. No traffic at all and no queues to get on site. Used to camp just inside Gate A and always plenty of room. Perfect. That was pre motorhome days for me.
  20. Basically boils down to the fact a lot of our fellow humans are complete uncivilised nobs who dont give a monkeys about anyone but themselves. I have seen those banks of urinals work quite well elsewhere- Bearded Theory had plenty of those last year.
  21. Not at the Farm but can live in hope one day but Kraftwerk's 3D set is amazing if you have never had the pleasure. Only 1 original member now but not sure it matters too much with them.
  22. That's a good tip ref the Oxfam Shop . Like a decent mooch in charity shops.
