But not just all men, all white men to boot.

I'm not saying Glasto wouldn't go for that trio, and I'm definitely not saying that it would not be a huge set of bookings. I just find it jarring from all the other interviews Emily has given about diversity, about booking specifically female headliners, and that she's now an ambassador of keychange.

It just doesn't sit right to me. But we'll see eh!

Objectively speaking, AM, GNR and Elton is a top, top set of headliners. By far the biggest band in the country, plus two all time musical legends. Three immensely strong, undisputed headliners. And if they had Beyonce or Rihanna instead of any of those three I'd still be thinking the same.

I'm sorry that you can't look past an artist's skin colour or gender to appreciate this.

At least one said Styles. But anyway, there's no thread to be had if we don't at least entertain the possibility, right? 😂

Exactly. Nothing’s official until it’s official. Until then, let’s speculate away and ignore the killjoys.

2 people heard Harry Styles ... one was me the other ive forgotten but the timing was similar .... we now also have the 2 posters on the previous page with as yet unknown people .... hopefully we might get some suggestions as to who they might be soon

So we do realise when Emily spoke about gender split on the bill, she never specified headliners, right? So if the undercard is stacked with ladies, think it's easier to give a good argument as to why the top of the bill isn't split this year

Its not like from general predictions that the big undercard slots are looking particularly female though.

Sure but just think how much more thread there would be to have if they could come clean with the names?

usually these things have a habit of working their way out ... if people know things then the web just becomes bigger and bigger

People are really hung up on the idea of Female headliners aren’t they? Despite the woman who runs the festival specifically saying it won’t always be possible to have female headliners and they’re more concerned with diversity across the whole line up.

Maybe she didn’t mean it or something. Even though it’s Emily, who’s very smart at dealing with the press, rather than Michael and his random outbursts.

It takes many spiders to weave a web

(that's not literally true but if it were then it would be a great analogy to use here)

No, they work alone.

im still sceptical about GnR as the Saturday headliner though I’d like them. Still think a Female headliner is more likely.

It's not just the lack of female representation in the big slots, it's a few variables - style of music, ethnicity, age/demographic etc.  On any level, AM/GNR/Elton plus other doesn't scan.  They've all been going for ages and there's usually a younger and more upcoming artist in the mix.  They're all in the main white males.  They're all in a similar territory musically (guitars/pianos+pop/rock).  There's just no variety from any perspective and that's what doesn't scan for me.  Glasto headliners + legend would usually have little overlap on a Venn diagram and these have massive ones.

Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely watch Elton and would be more than 50% on the other two - clashes willing - if that was the headline trio and I agree they are all huge bookings.  But as a mix of acts, it's not what I'd expect from the Glasto booking team.

Totally agree.

I really can't see that trio being the headliners. And unless every other band/artist in existence are unavailable, then it would a massive error and quite frankly shocking from GFL.

I think some of you are looking in the wrong direction.

One of the main reasons I believe it is true is because this looks like a pants touring year. I’ve not seen a single festival lineup across the world that’s taken my attention. It looks like the mega stars are doing their own tours and the festivals are fighting for the same scraps.

If it’s a pants touring year, Glastonbury won’t be immune from it. Three pants headliners makes a lot of sense when you look at the competition this year. Robbie Williams headlining big European festivals should be enough to confirm that for you.

On the three male thing - I’ve got my reasons for why I think it happened. They really thought they had Taylor, and they probably turned a lot of people away because they thought she was in the bag. When she changed her plans they were really really stuck.

just for a minute can you see that this might be wrong ... can you at any point see past the chance that the headliners are locked in ? we might be awaiting a tour or 2 to be announced ? id say the chances are high its going to be  the 3 mentioned ... but its not unknown  for things to change for example where they did with legend slot

Until I see strong evidence it’s wrong I will change my mind, but absolutely everything is pointing that way. Anything else just sounds like copium from people disappointed we are getting three pants headliners.

If those three massive acts are available and willing to play for the fee Glastonbury pays, and in two of those cases it might be Glastonbury’s only shot at getting them, and Taylor Swift/Rihanna/Dua Lipa/Adele/The Weekend/Harry Styles aren’t, then Glastonbury will book them.

Like Skip says, GnR as a CHOICE when Axl sounds so horrendously shit is bizarre to me and it feels way off.

But, I also agree with Matt that it could just be the way it is this year. Something tells me we're due a curveball that's a bit more exciting, but I'm keeping expectations low.

    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
    • E-mail summarizing Saturday - Primavera Sound 2026 Journal Day 3. As in previous days, it's going to be on the website soon, I think.
