If you feel that running this site is not worth the hassle anymore then yeah it's probably time to step away, sell up and go do something you actually enjoy.

I genuinely wish you well in that endeavour.

thanks, tho you lot should be aware that not every owner will run this site to your satisfaction.

Doesn’t confirm anything. He said a show at Glastonbury but could be talking about the town. Believing too much in unreliable sources!!

Glastonbury town hall might be a suitable venue 😀

In the last decade Kasabian and Mumford and Sons have headlined Glastonbury.

Some years it’s not all sunshine and, err roses.

Far be it from me to defend a band where (at least) one member turned out to be a raging Nazi but Mumfords were one of the most in-demand bands on the planet at the time they played. This year’s trio of past it legacy acts doesn’t compare well to 2013 at all. 2014 though yes absolutely diabolical, even before the Win Butler stuff .

Maybe it's just me but cannot quite see GNR going the full three hours.

...it doesn't scream all-timer on paper, but there are clearly enough songs there that will command a huge singalong.

The final 8 though will be huge. Granted it is  abit ballad heavy,

Yeah they might be rude to users and everything!

they won't put up with this sort of shit, or run the site in a similar way. will be minimum effort, w*nkers are a big effort.

Saw one of the London Stadium gigs a few years ago, and it was the point where you got either Patience or Don't Cry in the encore. Got the former which was a gutter, given the latter is probably my favourite GNR track.

It's not just the ballad nature, it's the... long-form nature. Like, Estranged and November Rain both last an eternity. Could see the former missing the cut despite being a cracker.

Good stuff. Site needs a change up. And you won’t have to deal with w*nkers.

If I were you I probably wouldn't speak this way about potential investors....

You're meant to be selling to them. Tell them how great we all are!

The site has an active user base of several thousand loyal w*nkers.

Way to steal GnR's thunder - you've been planning this 😄

Seriously though - you've done an amazing job building this site up.  I never want to talk politics with you again, but otherwise it's been a pleasure.  There are always the exceptions, but the spirit and enthusiasm built up within efestivals has kept me coming back for whatever number of years.

Hopefully your participation continues - until the new owners ban you at least

I doubt he’s really leaving. This is just a toy throwing response to GnR.

Well, happy coincidence that we're not talking about them too much at least.  Not sure I'll be able to persuade anyone that they're worth the time

I'd be well up this, to be fair. Some big singalongs.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
