  1. Id be interested to know if there is scope to reduce the artist budget to improve the overall SE corner. While it is a world class line up ultimately I rarely see anyone I'm interested in seeing down to the logistics of getting there. The Northwest corner plan seems a good solution, especially if they can run to 4/5am as no one is walking from Levels to Icon unless very committed!
  2. I guess my point is that when you have seen BT the SE corner is suddenly not that impressive
  3. The secret is to drink warm lager for 2/3 pints then get an Otters. In comparison it tastes like liquid amber.
  4. Glastonbury is falling behind in terms of production value. Festivals like boomtown offer something genuinely exciting in 2023 and are capable of delivering it to a massive audience.

    The churnups

RHCP has a perfect Glastonbury shaped whole and they are in Europe.... Pyramid stage picture too I'm into it.
  6. Bands are also way more expensive to book than DJ's. There are usually more members The sound is more complicated (multiple instruments needing mixed) Changeovers are more complicated IMO festivals try to save money by putting on more DJ's. Luckily its also the general trend in whats popular.
  7. My guess is levels will be similar to the common with a big ring of speakers. Only way they can feasibly play music loud in that area imo.
  8. Thanks for everything. A 2010 google search about possible sniffer dogs took me here and been a keen lurker ever since!
  9. This will be unpopular but as someone probably considered "young" and having attended 6 times since 2010 its not an area that ever really registered. Amyl and the sniffers were good there in 2019.
  10. Surely booking the same acts again and again is more likely to sink the ship.
  11. I suspect it will take a few years for the demand surge to die down. Ultimately this was the first sale since 2019 and over the last 4 years the number of people wanting a ticket has increased with no sale to feed this demand.
  12. Doing DJ sets screams of "need cash fast" so fair enough !
  13. The reimagination of silver hayes is happening! Intrigued by Levels. Hopefully has a common kind of vibe.
  14. Waking up to blue skies and hearing "get your milk, cold drinks...." is ingrained in my mind from previous years. Properly miss it.
  15. The last 2 years I've got a Monday 2am coach Sleep all the way and then wake up a 15 minute taxi from home 8am Monday morning. It isn't pleasant but it is nice to be back while others are just waking up.
  16. The dream would be SPFDJ or Somniac One on arcadia or the temple...
  17. Feels like GNR are in the way and if they happened to go missing / miss their flights it wouldn't be the end of the world for Emily. FWIW I cant wait GNR.
  18. The 2022 has about 100 acts on its so long way to go!
  19. I'd suspect the announcement date is more driven by artists on said line up and other commitments / festivals / tours they have. Or finalising contracts for Glastonbury.
  20. They grew up around sunset strip or whatever when it was plagued by hair metal. GNR came late 80's rather than early, they are distinctly heavier, dressed a lot less "hair metally". Overall they have more in common with metal and punk. Both genres are from hollywood and feature blokes in tight clothes with questionable hair singing about partying but sonically its pretty different... Like comparing arctic monkeys to bring me the horizon because they are both from Sheffield and play guitars.
  21. You can literally hear it. Listen to Whitesnake then listen to GNR.
