I was well up for Guns'n'Roses until I watched this YouTube clip of them and it's put me right off 😔

It’s mad how a man’s 50+ year career can be ignored and reduced to a single meme.

It’s like the Queen and Paddington Bear. She only met him once!

They sound awful nowadays, it would have been a good booking it they could still put on a decent show.

Axls voice is shot.

And we're talking about show business here. Of course Lizzo is a brand (one explicitly based on various virtues such as body positivity, which helped her get more mainstream attention), no different from Taylor Swift and so many of their contemporaries. And that partially explains the backlash against their personal behavior when it's inconsistent. No different from with Ellen Degeneres who always preached kindness on her show yet turned out to be a huge bitch to people. And it also explains why, say, the fans of criminal rappers don't care about their transgressions because they've always presented themselves as such.

That's a lot of peculiar and angry grouping there.

Go and have a cup of tea 😜

I’ve never experienced a forum before when the owner is the biggest troll on there till now😂

it’s like you don’t even read what the comment says and just reply with whatever nonsense you want anyway

You're a bigger troll than me you're only here to troll me, why you think I haven't noticed I'm not sure?

This supposed to be the British way of saying Bless Your Heart like they do in the Southern USA

Wtf is that username? Is this a 1970s nostalgia forum now? You’re Alf Garnett and I claim my £5.

I'd be delighted with this but it's probably too good

Yeah I count 9 or 10 acts who should be Pyramid sub/Other headliner level, too many bigger acts to go around.

Plus there are a few like PSB, Bicep and Elbow who played big slots last year and won't be back.

Bicep won't be back. The big dance acts next year are likely to be Prodigy, Chems and Fred Again (at a guess!)

Probably too early for chems to be honest (maybe the dj set)

Yeah if the Chems are back I'd expect them to be doing that DJ set they had to cancel last time.

They've got an album coming so you never know, unless theres movement soon though it will be a post glasto release (and then they will no doubt be at 2024)

Just seen people on Twitter receiving some letters from U2 seemingly pointing at new music... MIGHT be VERY wrong but definitely reckon the guys could be a huge contender for Glastonbury, MAYBE even headliners or just before headlining act?

    • They built a watering system and have been watering the island for the past few weeks to reduce dust, but given the current drought, there will still be dust. They will cover twice as much ground around the main stage with those plastic panels as they did before. They couldn't book Gogol Bordello because the singer was afraid the government would allow Russian security services to capture him if he entered the country. They didn't have much room to be selective about artists. They booked whoever they could get. This year's Sziget will be only about 50% of his original vision. He wanted a dedicated rock stage. They are preparing for a loss of 1.5 billion HUF this year. For some reason, student tickets are not selling in the numbers they had expected. He said that when he talks about the lineup being less important, he doesn't mean Sziget should have a weaker lineup than Primavera. Rather, it should have a similarly strong lineup combined with much more non-musical programming, so people from abroad come here to see the same artists but have a completely different overall experience. He didn't miss Sziget and originally wanted to spend no more than two days a week dealing with it, but now he's working on it full-time and has handed over control of the rest of his businesses.
    • Well the point seems to be 22.7% turn out doesn't suggest the majority are rushing out to support the mayoral system.
    • I wonder if they had that vote again they'd vote differently, seeing how successful other mayors like Burnham have been?
    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.
