Is BST a major festival…. Asking for a friend

Yes, extremely popular and has the clout to secure exclusives now. The had to "give away tickets" years ago but they've since settled on a really strong booking policy that hit more adult/older demographics, and it always does very well every year now.

There is 1 however…. He’s played it recently so would he post something like that to tease it? Basically I want him to play Glasto so trying to convince myself

Exactly.

He's saving the special one for last.

Good man.

What would your reaction have been if Dolly was announced as a Pyramid headliner instead?

Erm... You could probably have guessed yourself to be honest... "She should be in the legends slot"

I could

he has lots of wild west themed songs so you could build an entire wild west area

You could have a train that doesn't stop at a particular place

competitions for who can stand the longest

A rocket themed ride

a wizard of oz area

A ride similar to 'it's a small world' but instead it's called 'candle in the wind' and it's full of animatronic Princess Diana's. This will probably be the centre piece

you could hire lots of tiny dancers to walk around and entertain the guests

That's brilliant... Are you an imagineer by day? 🤷‍♂️😂😂

Surely it should be called Elton Towers?

Nice one... But don't put ideas in the heads of the Merlin marketing department!!! They'll be running an event next year and changing the park name to that for the day!!! They once changed 'Rita - Queen of Speed' to 'Camilla - Queen of Speed' to commemorate the royal wedding. 🙈

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
