There seems to be a wave of self-confirms at the moment, is it purely because things are being finalised or have the rules - if there were any - governing it become more relaxed?

Most of the stages line ups were fully confirmed a few days ago. I just got all my set times. For smaller artists, you sometimes don't know you're definitely playing until that comes through. So now people are announcing themselves!

They were my winners last year. Shum is a banger

Ha, mine too! Well, equal points with Måneskin. Just been dipping into the Go_A album and looks like they'll be making a good noise in the JP tent, excellent!

From glasto chat fb group. Don't see her on previously announced stages and wonder why she's teasing today 8pm for the announcement

There's a school of thought that today was at one point the intended date for the full announcement of all stages. Plausible it could have been 8pm and that when it changed the message didn't reach her.

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
