Loads of festivals made announcements today. 🤷

Yeah, but maybe they want to be the one that stands out or something. There is almost never a good time in this current day to make the announcement. If they were worried about Ukraine they shouldve put it out tuesday after all of the news outlets were fawning over McCartney. If its literally because they are concerned theyll be seen as tone deaf, well then everyone else certainly didnt care the last 12 hours.

Kenny showing more signs of activity

I don't think there's been a festival poster with acts like Kendrick/Kanye headlining that I know SO little of the rest of the card. I have probably listened to about 4-5 acts.

What is good though, is that this probably  means new music/album.

Tbf, aside from the headliners, that festival has almost exactly the same lineup year in year out, and targets a very specific demographic that eats that shit up. There’s a couple of acts there I know/like, but for the most part… not for me!

Kanye and Kendrick headlining the same festival is huge, fair play.

Kendrick opened for Kanye on the Yeezus tour which was loads of fun. And Kanye has to show up anyway.

Very genre specific festivals like the Rolling Louds show how much a lot of people that casually listen to music dont know is out there or even care for. Same goes for the EDM ones like Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields to an extent. Trust me you dont want to go to one of these anyway. Rolling Loud has very much been in the vein of how Travis Scott had been at his own concerts for years. They shoot from the hip and dont care for attendees and all that. In the wake of Astroworld they changed their age requirement  to 18 for one festival and said that they wanted everyone to "rage safely". After that it went right back to 16 and older. And this will be the festival where Travis Scott makes his return, you can guarantee it.

Perhaps it’s obligatory in the hip hop community to call yourself ‘lil’ if you’re a shortarse?

if you started rapping very young, chances are ppl would nickname you "lil" in your community. Lil wayne for example got signed to Cash Money when he was only 13. So that's the main reason. However some newer rappers probably called themselves "lil" just cause it seems like a rapper thing now.

Speaking of, what if he ends up being an out of nowhere booking. They seemingly lost out on Doja Cat so why not get him instead. Puts on an entertaining show.

He's been there before with Miley. Not impossible I guess

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
