Everyone here seems to be forgetting that, under the law of Glastonbury, Muse must play every 6 years precisely. 2004, 2010, 2016, 2022.

You don’t need to love it, but the law is the law:

Muse

Swift

Blur.

Thought this was worthy of a bump to note Muse are playing festivals next year and have a gap between Florence on 17 June and France on 3 July.

There is a pattern.

I assume it's been mentioned a lot, but Billie Eilish has a Glasto-sized gap in her tour. Too soon to headline with only 2 albums?

It’s been debated a fair bit. Rumour has it there’s still another date to be added (on the Sunday) which would mean Friday or bust.

Personally I’m sceptical she’ll schedule it in next year, unless Kendrick has dropped out.

I think if she's offered it while the hype train is here then she'll do it. That tour is way too coincidental

Comes down to whether the fest have managed to retain the original trio.

She’s certainly in striking distance if they haven’t.

This is my read on it as well.

I still assume the 2020 trio have 'right of first refusal' on headlining 2022, but I'd say with those dates Eilish is definitely in the frame if one of them are for whatever reason unavailable.

Don’t think there is a Sunday date coming as they have mentioned a few times now that the tour is completely sold out. Surely they would have announced it when the Saturday date sold out?

They can do what they want with the date. Its there for the taking until they decide against it and somebody else books the same date. No rush to say anything with a year to go. Could be added it in Feb for all they care. Look at it this way, assume the decision for the Sunday show happens if/when Glasto makes its choice. If she is playing then no sunday date. If she is out, Sunday is added.

And its 2 albums and an EP, thats a decent amount of material. Plush some other singles. There is your 3 albums

Hmm. You did say you heard there was a Sunday date though.

Is there any substantial rumours Taylor is touring in 2022 , I’ve had a look about but not seen anything

No, but I dont think she is going to rethink a lot of it. Easy to play one offs in England since she goes there often. Assume she is returning unless told otherwise.

Wait, what? TW Classic is on Glastonbury Saturday next year, right? 25th June. So if Macca’s playing then, that means he’s out for Glastonbury?

Unless he’s Sunday this time?

Sorry I got this wrong - that’s just the nick date. Paul will be at a different date.

He was meant to play there the week before Glastonbury in 2020, possibly the same again. If he’s touring Europe next summer he’ll be at Glastonbury.

So Macca looks in, and the feeling seems to be that Taylor will too (despite little concrete and evidence).

All eyes on Kenny now.

My take would be that Billie has been asked to keep that weekend free just in case. Her people have probably thought that while she’s waiting they squeeze another O2 show in so it’s not a complete waste if she’s not called.

    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
