You say that Ezra, Capaldi, Billie ain’t going to headline. Do you not think you’re just getting a bit old and pushing all the younger acts down? Surely one of these lot you say are NEVER going to headline will headline?

Reckon Billie could do it somewhere along the way, just not next year. As for the other two, maybe I’m putting too much faith in the organisers but I just don’t see them making shit lads with guitars a standard for a headliner. Ed Sheeran is the only one they’ve had and he was on another level of popularity and the first one to get that big. Maybe I’m behind on the times and this is the kind of stuff that’s gonna start being booked to headline, but for now I’m firmly in the ‘not gonna happen’ boat.

Think I’m gonna swerve BBC tonight and just have a couple beers with some Glastonbury inspired CD’s/Spotify tracks/maybe YouTube

gonna end the “festival” weekend how I intended but failed last year with Reef, any other suggestions for festival enders are greatly welcome!

Must be someone else. I've never noticed a video of George Ezra. Except that one where he celebrates being 'song of the summer'. That's a good one.

What video?

I’ve always linked this George Ezra video as an example of why he will be booked to headline one day. Peak BBC show people having fun video.

Also this video is a window into the “other side of the festival” which isn’t exactly reflected on efestivals at all, and is a major reason why we are all struggling on ticket day.

Lionel nailed it

I was coming down to shit before that set. Back in a time where I partied too hard and was a miserable grump.

Lionel cheered me right up. I actually cried a few times. It was during some songs that I should not have cried through at all. It was very weird.

Thanks. You should look thru that fooking window and see all the Kasabian fans that will lap up a headline set.

I think they’d be a great headliner

for the other stage.

I like to think Emily would want to pick artists that have some kind of significance, something more  than just "they're popular"

She has guested on his podcast. She clearly likes him a lot.

I don’t think he will do it in 2021 but I wouldn’t say we are far off. If he has another album as big as his second I think it’s guaranteed!

Ezra will probably headline. Being any good isnt a requirement.  (See Sheeran)

Ezra falls nicely in that bland "everything's nice" space that people with a different outlook on life than me seem to like.

It's great when a 'popular' act is headlining, it makes it very easy to get into the naughty corner.

I know it's kind of the point of a forum to discuss the details but it makes me howl when people on here cry off over headliners. If Ezra headlines nobody is forcing you to go. Plenty of other folk will. I get it in the Facebook comments etc because every Tom, Dick and Harry has their say but you lot on here obviously love Glastonbury so what's the problem if there's one headliner that isn't your cup of tea? Just go somewhere else... Can't wrap my head around when someone gets touted as a potential headliner and it's "I can't stand them", "I just hate them". There's plenty I don't like but I just don't go. Imagine hating George Ezra, it isn't that deep surely?!

You can still voice an opinion & say "I dont like x, y or z" though.

I havent seen a Pyramid Headliner for 6 years, so it isnt an overriding factor. I should have last night & tonight though.

of course hating him is way to strong ... some voices do grate for me though ... Ezra and Sheran particularly ... seem like decent enough guys ... no offence intended and I as you say will be elsewhere .

Just wondering: which dance do you think the security would have learnt for Diana Ross, and what song?

No clue for the dance but I Will Survive or Chain Reaction would have been* great choices

*there's still hope for next year 🤞🏻

Correct, we’ve found ourselves taking a wander about when a headliner we arnt desperate to see is on. Dipping in and out various venues be it another main stage, Avalon, left field or any of the bars. There is always something somewhere that gives a memorable night. And if I fancy a bit of a simple pop and a dance then I don’t see what is wrong with Ezra. The incredible range of bands and musical styles on show on this BBC coverage is proof that there is always something for everyone.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
