“Her only official appearance at the festival so far - who knows what the future holds”

Eh seems too vague to be a real hint imo - more ‘she’s an obvious contender for a future headliner’ than ‘she’s doing it next year’.

I love Michael so much. Can’t believe how star struck I was when I met him.

He's just the best. I really wish more people could be like him just think how many acts that he doesn't give a shit about that he lets perform on his farm. I aim to be as kind and tolerant as him but constantly fail.

Sad for him, good for me.

Yep true I had plenty of dancing space but as crowd size these days seems to be a barometer of how popular/good someone was he deserved better.

I mean Dolly had a huge crowd of which a fairly large percentage just wanted to take a selfie and leave but that crowd size will still always be quoted.

Shirley B we missed- watched home on tv with a cuppa- left the site before lunch to go home- the rain and mud had done us in and my cousin couldn’t hack it any more and was feeling ill.

I remember leaving Billy Bragg at Avalon as he was singing Waterloo Sunset to go and catch SB. (May have been Croissant Neuf).

BB had asked the crowd, "You can have an Elvis song" (Big cheer) "or you can have a Kinks song" (even bigger cheer).

As I left the tent I realised that the rain had stopped, the sun had come out, that the crowd behind me had overspilled the tent and that all of the stalls that had previously been blasting out music had all stopped to listen to Billy.

I'm not really one for patriotism or the like, but I had a proper wobble/Glastonbury moment where I was just lost in a kind of "just how wonderfully British is this", type of way (and The Kinks are better than Elvis). I swear half of the people outside of the tent spotted the look on my face and recognised what was happening with me. Which of course made it even more emotionally intense :).

I still absolutely love Muse so no complaints here 😁

Yep. Don't get the hate for Muse 'round these parts. Matt Bellamy is some kind of musical savant afaic. Great keyboard player. Woefully underrated guitarist and what a voice in terms of range and expression (if you can ignore the "intake of breath" noise that, once heard, can never be unheard).

Plus there's not enough sci-fi space rock around. Hawkwind, Rush and Muse.

Ray Davies still my favourite of these slots. Days always reduces me to a blubbering mess.

That choir (Crouch End I think). They were also great with NGHFB when they were touring their first album.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
