Doesn't really matter what's in the app code. Just about anything can be joined up from the data the app sends to the govt.

Absolutely every worst thought I had about how the government would approach reopening has almost come true....

It matters in the sense that if it's a badly written software stack then third parties can access the data who were not supposed to be able to. 

It's their competence I question. The government knows all about me, of course, but I have more faith in the legacy systems.

I get it completely, they continue to make error after error. Even though building testing capacity to where it is, is actually very good.

 

I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling we are heading towards a second spike. Maybe not as bad as the first but still pretty bad. They had chances to work with Apple/Google but didn’t want to because of *power* and now we are left with this half way house type of system.

And so many people just wandering through our site. Just had to kick two car loads of lads out who'd just pulled into our car park (passing the 'Private, Keep out' sign and then just climbed over the obvious barriers to get to the lake)

Where about in the Lakes are you? We headed down from Carlisle to Keswick for a couple of hours on Monday. Probably the quietest we've ever seen it, even in midwinter. 95% of people respecting social distancing, no car parks really that full, even Booths seemed dead compared to a usual day.

Not disputing your point obviously, but interested in the differences across the Lakes - is it people coming from South of the Lakes, or people in each town just coming out and about do you think?

I think that's what the WHO have recommended all along, so we've been overly cautious in that regard.

i just worry .... its those people that I want to be seeing 1 on 1 ... but worry that them seeing lots of people increases the risk when they see me , ive just cancelled a socially distant meeting with one tomorrow because of it

I don't think we have.  WHO is trying to strike a balance for the entire world.  There's good evidence that increasing the distance makes a difference.  You're not "safe" at 2m either.

No, never 100% safe but now we are aware of it if we're careful about coughing etc I dont think the chances of catching the virus from 2m away are huge.

I'm in Ambleside. Now don't get me wrong, it's not "normal" busy. Particularly for the time of year. The road is busy, but it's not queuing like you'd normally see. It's just that in the last few days there's been a big change. Driving past Rydal for example, the lake shore looked pretty busy, and like I said, car parks which up until a few days ago only ever had a couple of cars in are now full during the day but emptying in the evening. Keeping two meters apart in Ambleside would've been pretty difficult when I went through.

In terms of who it is, impossible to say for definite of course. Some are locals who are heading further out then they have been. I know that the case just from what people I know are doing. But a lot are not. Certainly the people we've had to ask to leave our site. In the first couple of weeks they were mostly locals ( they'd usually say they were, like that makes it ok!) but most now aren't. The 10 lads we had to kick out today certainly weren't
