That leak from the German health ministry a really bad idea...

As they see real use data from the UK, they might just change their mind. The impact of the AZ vaccine should start to become obvious soon (at the moment the earlier vaccinations with Pfizer are likely what you are seeing, but it won’t be long)...

I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing longer days when we get the first 9 groups complete.

I know they scrapped the trials for 24 hour vaccinations, and I'm not saying we will do 24 hours, but I think when we get to younger, fitter groups, people will be happy to go much earlier/later.

I can see why they don't vaccinate 80 year olds at 10pm, but when it comes to blitzing through those under 50, there isn't any reason not to increase the time window if supply isn't an issue.

Especially as the conditions at night will make it easier to travel as the weather gets warmer they could definitely expand the times they vaccinate.

That's true - with the icy conditions the past few weeks it would've been a bit dangerous asking people to drive around at night

I wonder is this an indication as to what will come across the UK:

Looks like all we are getting in NI in April is outdoor gatherings of up to 10 from two households.

It's a bit late for this but the household metric is quite a weird one to go by isn't it? I mean we have nothing better, but 5 people from 2 households (presumably 2 adults 3 kids) would lead to a greater mixing/spread between everyone than say 4 individuals from 4 different households (i.e. most friendship arrangements)? I get the logic to restricting to as few households as possible because of the exponential increase in contacts for each household etc. but it is just weird to me.

They could change their minds, but I think any increased uptake as a result would be minimal given they would then be seen to be flip-flopping. Absolute open goal for anti-vaccination movements whatever way it is dealt with now.

I don't know what to believe re supply anymore. Was meant to be dead low this week but that hasn't quite materialised yet. Seems that everything needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and they are being very coy about it all.

I wouldnt worry about it too much on a day to day basis or unless someone says they wont meet a target.

What if all 4 adults have a husband and wife and kids?

They mentioned St Patricks day as a reason why they are reluctant to open up more fully. May not apply here!

Yeah I guess I was just struggling to convey how it may be different/unfair from the perspective of the majority of young people who live alone who can only meet in that situation 1 other household (and maybe 1 person) compared to the family. Not slagging it off either just think it's one of many situations where people fall through the cracks.

People living alone can already bubble - there is no ideal way of doing any of these things.

I'd be happy to go back to T3 where I couldn't mix with another household but could still go for a pint / a meal. Didn't do the boozer any favours though.

In Wales it has dropped by about a third.  First 4 days last week we were at 95k jabs, compared to 66k this week.

Think they said in their briefing that we would feel the pinch for a couple of weeks, starting this week.  Reports of 100k doses being provided this week and next week before ramping up in March.  Last week 182k vaccines were administered.

Not sure how accurate the below is but it states "The two-week decrease in supply, due to a planned lower output, is expected to hit Wales around two weeks before similar patterns are seen in England. This is because Wales is ahead of the vaccination roll out schedule compared to other parts of the UK.".

Well done Macron

It's beyond farcical- they pick a fight with AZ to cover ups their own procurement failings, and in doing so decide its a great idea to mock the Oxford vaccine to punish/pressure the manufacturer (when they needed to be increasing confidence in vaccinations due to high levels of scepticism). They then succeed in getting extra vaccines, but now their populations don't want them because of what they said. Beyond moronic.

I'm not sure, I think the damage is done, it'll be difficult to overcome the extra hurdle that leak etc helped create. So needless and very frustrating!

    • I wonder if he's going to get into the States for the second match against England. Seems a bit weird having players missing for certain matches but not others as the world cup moves around.
    • Quite lucky as I’ve no interest in Halsey at all so I’ve got time for some food and drink before getting in there.   But yeah… thinking I’ll have to leave early to get a decent spot for Gorillaz
