Dude come on. I posted the full quote.

How many vaccines do you hope to deliver by mid February to people in the top four priority groups?

Hancock says he would like take-up to be 100%.

People will be “offered to have had the vaccine” by 15 February. That is the target, he says. He says the government cannot claim to have met the target just by offering people a date for a jab before 15 February.

I know.

It's still moving the goalposts.

Apparently there is a chance of some very cold snowy weather on the way over the next few weeks...a beast from the east...that will likely put further strain on health services and screw up vaccine rollout. But, then again, might not happen.

Hopefully it will also reduce the number of cases as everyone stays indoors

I'm sure there'll be snow problems.

Reducing time in hospital by 10 days might be as big if not bigger a game changer than the 24% reduction in mortality. One of the reasons the hospitals are so close to being overwhelmed is that they’re full of patients who were infected in October/November and became critically ill but pulled through (largely thanks to Dexamethasone) but have not sufficiently recovered to go home yet.

Yeah I reckon we can get by with that and the Amazon fresh stuff if needed.

What symptoms did you have for it to tell you not to have a test (if not too personal)? It told me to based on a sore throat, earache and headache (which obviously aren't the classic combo).

to be honest those are pretty similar to me, I'm only just coming out of it. Felt somewhere between a hangover and an ear infection, I was really dizzy (which made me nauseous) and a touch fevery. It said because I still had my taste and I didn't have a temperature I shouldn't bother but maybe should ring 111. I didn't but I've staying away from my flatmate and not been leaving the flat, I just lived in bed for most of it getting constant take-outs.

Good luck for your appointment today chuckles! I had my jab yesterday and strongly suspect that I got salted rather than vaccinated, as I've had zero reaction (well, apart from a mild headache which was probably just a mild headache!). Slightly disappointing, but all good in the name of science and progress and all that jazz. Hope you're in the other 50%...

Yep had mine this morning. Interesting process in Manchester Uni research facility that was staffed by NHS nurses and doctors. I can’t say I feel any different to yesterday -;feel I like I am living in a bit of a fog and undecided what time I can start drinking 😊. Will see what tomorrow brings..... hope you and I got the active one 👍

I actually just received an email after posting this asking for more volunteers.

You can see if you qualify here: https://gb.ensemblestudy.com/

There's no obligation to take part so might as well fill in the form, especially if it looks likely for approval and you're not high up the list. They have said that if you're offered an NHS vaccine they'll tell you if you had the placebo or not and how the trial is looking so you can decide to take the Oxford/Pfizer vaccine if you want.

50% chance of getting a vaccine is better then 0% chance until Autumn.

Yes all the paperwork and advice I got says that it is two shots, second one in 8 weeks or so.  Have the appointment already.

edit - meant to quote your post about the two shots for J&J vaccine candidate

Horrific death numbers, RIP 😞

OTOH, it’s good that cases have fallen week on week. Hopefully we are starting to see stability in the regions that were put in tier 4 first, and then hopefully the other regions don’t have sufficient levels of the new variant to reach the grim levels and of London and the Home Counties.

Most of the country has been effectively locked down for over a week now so consider me semi-hopeful that we start seeing evidence that R has fallen below 1 in the coming days. I hope it’s not just a backlog.

Neither my friend or me had any reactions at all after either of our jabs when we had ours on a trial. Hopefully doesn't mean we've both had a placebo! Although I haven't heard much about people having reactions after getting the real thing.

Oh wait I think we are talking about different apps. Do you mean the "NHS" app? I put my symptoms into the Zoe tracker thing and then they have a special section for people to do tests on the test ordering website if told to by the app.

Sounds grim anyway, hope you feel better!

Yeah - all the official info indicates is that there was one serious adverse event (bleed on the brain but could not say whether it was due to vaccine or other causes), every thing else was minor head aches and irritation where the jab went in. I can’t say I have any reaction at all yet. Let you know when I start getting instructions from Bill Gates......

Oh I just went on a website that looked official ahah.

Thanks, you too and hope the test amounts to nothing!

Also there were over 557,000 tests done which is a new record I think. In addition to what you've said a lot of places have been in tier 4 for around 2/3 weeks and schools closed for that period too so hopefully the following few days can see a decrease, it's also good news regarding the new drugs being used as well
