Just popped my test in the post. Hope it's negative as we were due to do a big food shop this weekend and our local Tesco has no online delivery slots until the 23rd! Deliveroo it will have to be then...

the groceries with deliveroo thing works pretty well, there's a sainsburys and morrisons delivering for free at the moment round me. its no replacement for a big shop but I've been feeling a bit ill this week (symptom checker told me not to get a test) so wanting to avoid the shops and its doing the job for a couple of weeks.

From the health committee

How many vaccines do you hope to deliver by mid February to people in the top four priority groups?

Hancock says he would like take-up to be 100%.

People will be “offered to have had the vaccine” by 15 February. That is the target, he says. He says the government cannot claim to have met the target just by offering people a date for a jab before 15 February.

Government backtracking part 78,400. F'ing shysters...

They’ll get away with it too, the media will barely question it.

Presumably as more old people are taking extra precautions relative to young people? Anyone know?

maybe because of the higher numbers of cases everywhere ..... or proportionally the vaccines for the very old might be having an impact

I think it’s partly because more younger people are out and out about not just socialising but also studying and working too. Maybe complacency is playing a part too.

Out of upvotes for today, guys, but thank you for the kind words.

I’m going to have to go in for the two days, I think. I’ve spoken to my Nan and she said that she trusts me to be as careful as I can be at school. My two days on the rota are back to back (Tue and Wed) so I think the plan is going to be to base myself in Doncaster at my girlfriend’s (I don’t leave the house when I’m here and she tests twice a week as she is NHS and only leaves the house for work), drive to work on a Tuesday morning from here, stay at my Nan’s Tuesday night and then drive back up to Donny when I finish on Wednesday, which halves my Nan’s exposure to me.

It is a shit situation and one that makes me even more pleased that I am going to be leaving that school at the end of this academic year.

Thanks for the kind words again, everyone.

If it helps you can get a Travel Lodge in Donny for £30 on a Tuesday night https://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/534/Doncaster-Lakeside-hotel?checkIn=12%2F01%2F21&checkOut=13%2F01%2F21&rooms[0][adults]=1&rooms[0][children]=0

They're open and you're staying for work so are permitted to be there.

Dude come on. I posted the full quote.

Hmm not so much! But thanks.

Maybe someone can share the script that's used to monitor See Tickets changes for Glastonbury tickets.

Christ it comes to something when you're contemplating the same measures you use for a Glastonbury slot for a Supermarket delivery!! At least you are in London where you can pretty much get anything delivered!

I usually try and avoid amazon where possible but they do seem to do same day delivery on fresh stuff now if you're in a jam. They also seem to have done some sort of deal with morrisons for a wider range of stuff. Hope your test comes back negative.

Yeah I reckon we can get by with that and the Amazon fresh stuff if needed.

What symptoms did you have for it to tell you not to have a test (if not too personal)? It told me to based on a sore throat, earache and headache (which obviously aren't the classic combo).
