Would the isolation period be only 6 days because my contact occurred a while ago ?

I think it’s 10 days from when the app pinged. I hope you’ll be ok mate and @JoeyT too.

Remember Deliveroo can deliver groceries if things get really bad food wise.

That’s not right. The app will tell you when to stop isolating but in all cases the 10 day period is back dated to when the contact occurred.

Yep as fuzzy says the app has given me 6 days ... I’d forgotten deliveroo 🙂 cheers ... I’ve booked a test now anyway ... wait and see time

Only going on Saturdays from now on 😘 though I might use the corner shop to grab bread and milk if we run out etc

Yeah this is typically what happens. My dad had to self-isolate for a day a few weeks back because his workmate got symptoms and took a test and then by the time it came back positive and they contact-traced him, it’d been nine days since my dad had been with him.

Nine days? Fuckin hell

Apparently there is a fake NHS text message going round saying eligible for a vaccine and with a link that takes you to a fake website asking for money...

Fucking scammers, they’ll be some vulnerable that will fall for that as well. Horrible!

Now the app has changed to 11 days ... that means someone else tested positive very recently ... ? !

Potentially yeah, that sucks man. Try to keep your spirits up!

That doesn't make sense, self isolation period is "10 days from when you were last in contact with the person who tested positive for coronavirus."

Well it must know that you are going to have a close contact tomorrow. NHS and .gov.uk both say 10 days.

Sorry to hear about the self isolation @crazyfool... could you please ask your app about glastonbury though.

There is a serious issue between what track and trace tell you and what the app says.

They confirmed to me over the phone that my last day of self isolation is 11th Jan but my app tells me it’s the 14th Jan.

It’s just a shambles.

At least you get to shield for a bit.  Will it affect your pay?

I’m waiting to find out ... my boss doesn’t know !!! Ffs ... I was thinking about taking some time off unpaid anyway whilst numbers are so scary ...  I don’t think I will be able to claim the £500 because I’m not on benefits and have some savings ... I’ve 11 days to work that out though

isn't it available to anyone testing positive, nothing to do with income? I thought it was.

Ah maybe ... I’ll post details when I find out what support my employer gives me ... I’ll submit datails and see what happens ... thanks
