Are the U.K. under playing how far ahead we are with the vaccinations so they don’t get into a war of words with the EU again? Or is it under promising and over delivering?

Either way, my dad and step dad were jabbed last weekend slightly earlier than the government announcement to go to 65-69, and my soon to be mother and father in law are being jabbed tomorrow, one of them is in the 60-64 group

Glad to hear about your family being jabbed 🙂

In all honesty I think it's more under promising and over delivering, the government will want to showcase how well the programme is going and a 2 fingers to the EU by showing so wouldnt shy away from it

Ah so their booster isn't within a certain timeframe? Surely the same here if so, one dose for younger people ASAP.

When does UK expect delivery does anyone know? Assuming approval won't be far off

Currently there is no booster, it’s one shot and done (though I suspect when they get their 2 shot regimen data back it’ll push their efficacy up closer to the others, hence a booster may be offered at a later date, and since its genetic vaccine, the booster could even be based on newer variants). As it stands they have applied to the FDA and now the EMA...haven’t put in their application to the MHRA yet, but it can’t be far off. EMA expecting to approve by the middle of March (possibly sooner) with deliveries straight away (EU has 400m ordered, so at 1 shot, almost enough to do everyone...it’ll be used for lower risk individuals though, Pfizer and Moderna are still the ones being used for most vulnerable)...

CTM seem pretty dodgy. They have mopped up the contract both for the hotel quarantine and for the Covid booking.

At the moment you can't get through to them, the day 2 tests are not arriving in time for day 2 and last night you couldn't book the tests at all - this was the message shown.

I had to phone them on Friday, got some girl who had no idea how to answer my query, spoke to someone else and then eventually tried to get her manager and surprisingly the call got disconnected...

Someone tell @crazyfool1that he needs to change the location for the in person virtual meet to Goa.

Got back at Easter, so still had quite a bit of lockdown here. Indian lockdown was more strict - could only go outside to get food or for medical treatment, so we spent a lot of time watching netflix and eating takeaway.

It's funny looking back at my Google maps timeline, starts off like "I'm traveling around the world, my life's so exciting" and suddenly becomes "I haven't been outside for several days"!

Yeah we were in the Philippines from mid January for 5 weeks and whilst there was no lockdown, it was obvious things were going pear shaped... 70% of their tourists are from China

I'm all here for slowly creeping that deadline date earlier. Everyone having second dose by August means 1st doses for all by may.

Could be on the cards - We have hit 3m a week. Supply is only going to get stronger and more stable and we have Moderna coming in a couple of months.

We should be looking at 4m-5m a week by beginning of April so around 16-20 million a month vaccinated.

I was, at age 33 and with no medical conditions flabbergasted to be invited for a first dose which i will get at the end of February. Based in leeds.

apparently the local medical centre they are being administered from is flying through them but even still it feels odd to essentially have been picked at random. There is no rhyme or reason it seems. Wife at same address and same Dr’s not heard.

My dad aged 65 in west yorks has had his so they're going pretty well in these parts. Guess theyre on with 60-65 cohort at present. But then also a smattering of anyone at random too.

Spain hopes the introduction of vaccination passports combined with pre-travel Covid-19 testing would allow British tourists to return to Spanish destinations this summer, a tourism ministry source told Reuters.

We support the vaccination certificate but not as the only way to recuperate mobility, rather, as one of the means within a portfolio of measures including social distancing, pre-travel tests, mask-wearing.

The government has no plans to introduce quarantines on foreign visitors, and was also counting on a wider agreement to be hammered out between Europe and Britain to remove restrictions on non-essential travel, the official added.

If you have been invited for a vaccine the new groups have been selected using data on the covid calculator.

you can find out your score here. https://qcovid.org/Calculation

I was 38 out of 100

48 out of 100 but didn’t include my specific illness as one of the criteria so not sure if it can be relied on.

The data is still quite new, the other calculators they do have been years in development and fine tuning.

qRisk is used by most GP’s to determine who to give statins to.

Surely deaths would be VERY low at that stage? Why should we have restrictions with 1100 cases? What happened to stopping hospitals being overwhelmed?

I presume its to reduce the risk of vaccine resistant variants, at least until we vaccinate vs those

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
