I'm watching the football. Please let me know if there is any mention of support bubbles.

Support bubbles and childcare bubbles remain.

Just hate that he comes on TV to basically be like "yeah... lockdown but this still doesnt mean we fucked up. " also hate when there's no mention of more financial support, like this whole time they still expecting people to survive on 80 percent wage or no money at all for some. Or having no money for childcare or all the money wasted on shops and restaurants to become covid safe, jesus so much wasted money

Yet they cant be bothered to give some people a penny

What has always been unclear for me with childcare bubbles, is if my child can still go to my parents for childcare every Friday as he always has done, does that mean me and my wife can go in their house too if we had to? Is that the ‘bubble’? It’s not particularly clear with the wording:

A childcare bubble is where one household links with one other household to provide informal childcare - unpaid and unregistered - to anyone under 14.

The tiered system was devised by the Dept Health's JCVI team (not the government)... it's a very valid point, you could also make a strong case for teachers too.

There are quite a decent proportion of NHS staff that are already getting the vaccine, 3 of our Glastonbury group out of 5 nurses have had it. I know that's a small sample but every medical worker at the vaccination centre I've been working in has had the jab (Say around 30 people) and that's just one location.

Glastonbury gang #4 just booked in for the vaccine on Wednesday (Boston gynaecology nurse).

From how I understand it no you can't. The childcare bubble is purely for childcare and you aren't allowed to socialise with the bubble I'm afraid.

Thanks, thought not but its not particularly clear with the wording:

What are the rules on meeting one person outside? That a goner now?

From The Mirror:

You cannot meet people from outside your household or bubble anywhere - indoors or outdoors.

The only exemption is that one person can take exercise outside with one person from another household.

Is Mid Feb for those groups above and beyond what we were expecting? Any chance this helps glastonbury chances....?

If it wasn't absolute bollocks then it may have done but it's so unrealistic that the only reaction is to laugh at such an outlandish promise

It used to specifically say you can't socialise with the support bubble but that wording has gone, no idea why!

With such disruption for years to come anyway any analysis on impact of children repeating a year of school?

I got held back a year at school and it was character building. Made me the man I am today. An ace fighter pilot and hero of the galaxy.

Sorry, no, I'm confusing myself with Ace Rimmer again.

Pleased they've kept this, as long as people are sensible this could be a real help for a lot of people including myself

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
