That's fair enough and your choice. You might be disadvantaged by that choice, but it's your choice to make.

That in itself is a whole other argument.

I just think we will see a decrease in the uptake as we look to roll it out to younger people - who are far less impacted if they catch Covid than other cohorts.

Well then we won't get out of it and its the anti vaxxers fault.

I dont see any evidence of younger people being a lot more anti vaccine.

Its possible to be sceptical of the current vaccines and not be anti vaccines.

I think it's a big disingenuous to discount the other worries people have about the vaccines due to there being no data around things impact in fertility etc... I'm not keen on the idea of a jab myself and I'm really not keen on my son having it he's 10 and got his whole life to live and Covid is of such a minute risk to him it almost doesn't feel worth it with such little information. He's had all his other injections which have stood the test of time.

I'm not sure there's ever been a case of a vaccine impacting fertility though.  You're right that Covid is little risk to him and by the time that he's due to have the vaccine hopefully the majority of the population will have have already had it

This stuff is so new we don't have the first notion of any long term effects of it - it's simply not been around long enough to test the theory.

With all these things now it's there I'm sure there will be hundreds of studies by academics all around the world into the various impact this vaccine and indeed the illness itself has on things like fertility and all manner of other things.

I'm just not to keen on being the test pilot.

Why do you keep mentioning fertility?

I don't think anyone halfway credible is even contemplating that there might a link there, and I'm not convinced anyone worth listening to will even bother to study it unless as a response to or pre-emption of some Andrew Wakefield style bullshit / scaremongering . There was initially advice not to give the Pfizer jab to pregnant women, but that's because the scientists are if anything being over cautious not because there was any specific concern.

That's not to say there can't ever be a link - but given that the vaccines fundamentally work by simulating (a non infectious) part of the virus, it's extremely likely that if any issues are discovered down the line then the manifestation in the vaccine would be no worse than you could get from the virus itself.

2 things, what’s an A&E SHO?

And I wonder if cameras were allowed in the ICUs if that would help with this kind of thing?

Job title.

And they have been at various points - doesn't seem to impact on thick people.

I don’t think we’ve seen in ICUs like they did in Italy, have we?

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
