Israel have already vaccinated 1/9 of their population in just over a week whereas we are faffing around with it like it’s a 9-5 job.

We need a 24/7 rapid vaccine programme ASAP.

Anyone seen the new minister for vaccines ? He’s as quiet as the rest of them !!

We definitely need to ramp up, but if it's done properly then 24/7 wouldn't help at all.

Think of the bottlenecks in these terms -

- Supply of vaccine
- Logistics to transport
- Staff to deliver it
- Locations to deliver it

The only one of those problems that 24/7 would solve is Locations - and that should be by far the easiest to scale up.

Why do you keep mentioning fertility?

I don't think anyone halfway credible is even contemplating that there might a link there, and I'm not convinced anyone worth listening to will even bother to study it unless as a response to or pre-emption of some Andrew Wakefield style bullshit / scaremongering . There was initially advice not to give the Pfizer jab to pregnant women, but that's because the scientists are if anything being over cautious not because there was any specific concern.

That's not to say there can't ever be a link - but given that the vaccines fundamentally work by simulating (a non infectious) part of the virus, it's extremely likely that if any issues are discovered down the line then the manifestation in the vaccine would be no worse than you could get from the virus itself.

My colleague told me she wouldn't take a vaccine because of fertility. But then again, she also told me her boyfriend believes in QAnon and that Trump and Biden are as bad as each other.

Fertility is an example and it was used because it features in the documents published on .gov.uk so there is obviously some people more important than you or I who believe it's worth documenting.

If you actually read what's being said my concern isn't a specific about fertility and I'm not saying there is a link, it's about the fact that there is no longevity to anyone who has had this vaccine.

Christmas holidays?

Sure he’ll do the rounds on Monday... He doesn’t appear to be as bad as the rest of them but he’s not one to normally shy away from the spotlight.

Tbf we are third best behind Israel and Bahrain and much ahead of other countries.

I guess I agree as I’ve not seen him 🙂

Is that 1/9 of a priority list like ours or the whole family population?

2 things, what’s an A&E SHO?

And I wonder if cameras were allowed in the ICUs if that would help with this kind of thing?

A doctor, usually a couple of years post qualifying.

Very sobering images. These people are morons.

I think we can all keep our fingers crossed that this won’t be the new version of Boris’s 2nd January (because he’s so damn lazy) post from last year about how 2020 is going to be great.

very important senate election in Georgia next week, could make a big difference to what Biden can do...and even if democrats win both Georgia seats Biden is going to have a massive task ahead of him.

New Year's Eve being my birthday means I usually see a lot of fun looking content to mark it, be it big fireworks or glam looking parties or whatever. So a quarantine birthday/NY just felt super fucking weird. It was a nice day - just ate all the snacks, got a delicious looking cake from my brother and re-watched Taskmaster. On its own terms, that's good fun, but I doubt I would've expected my late 20's to have such a moment. Unless I'm now going along with the meme jokingly suggesting my 20's now end when I turn 34.

It is weird tbf. I entered 2019 and 2020 with expectations of decent years and found the first disappointing and the second an outright disaster. Surely I'm not the only one starting this year with low expectations to be revised upwards if things begin to get better in spring?

    • I did get a little amusement at the idea that Infantino was upset Trump stood him up for the US opener last night given how hard he's been trying to get in his good books.   Tbf, I thought the Canadian roar at their equaliser was decent volume. Or maybe I just had my phone at a higher volume for it when I watched the highlights this morning.
    • Wonder if they’d ever headline Glasto again.  Would be very different a 2nd time around I reckon.
    • My mate is there now. She enjoyed them a lot but had never seen them before. Apparently there was an injury in the crowd near the end so took about 10 or so minutes to sort out. Hope the person is alright.    Feeder apparently drew a ridiculously huge crowd on the third stage.
    • This was never a surprise.   I'm hoping USA meet and lose to Iran in round of 16, just to really wind up Trump.
