@Toilet DuckWhat kind of restrictions are people in Ireland meant to be doing at the moment? All my friends and family in Ireland on Facebook seem to be pretty much doing what they want. Is Ireland out of lockdown completely?

No offence but the Irish Gov website would have all the info.

Since Friday, inter county travel and household visits (3 households max) opened up again. Bars and restaurants for table service only accompanied by food have been open for the last few weeks, non-essential retail also open for the last few weeks. Cases numbers were grand, just started to go a bit crazy over the last few days (the government said expect to shut down again before NYE, reckon they’ll move that up sooner now). Our version of SAGE recommended against opening hospitality when restrictions lifted at the start of the month, looks like they were correct!

I suppose it was a double ended question of what should they be doing and what the mood/level of public compliance was from someone on the ground.

Yes from the photos I have seen of people in pubs etc not a lot of social distancing happening. I'm not very happy with my niece living in the same house as my brother who is currently having chemotherapy and every day she seems to be taking a selfie with her head right next to somebody new. 😞

Infection rates in the 19-44 age range have gone through the roof since bars/restaurants opened again (10 fold increase). They’ll be shut down again fairly soon, most of the country is pretty pissed off that all our good work has been undone in a few short weeks for the sake of some pints. There’s those who maintain it’s the schools (it’s not, infection rates collapsed with schools open when we shut the pubs, sky rocketed again once we re-opened them), but most people know what the problem is and would support keeping them closed til we get the vaccination programme rolled out (with proper support for hospitality staff of course).

Think this comments a bit harsh pal on a forum where people are chatting about the various issues/policies concerning Covid... most info is readily available with google if you want.  I've no cat in the fight though... just adding my tuppence worth.

Sorry I didn’t mean it in any bad way, only if you need quick info the best place to go is the gov website. I get your point, I should’ve been better with my words.

🙂 ...dont think thats going to be a problem ... Ill give a fruity update once ive got home tomorrow after my weekly shop ...

Ah, the big Xmas  shop. Can you not do it at the end of a shift or when shop is quiet?  Dreading this week, we’ve got four big shops to do including our own. Doing favours for some housebound folk. And due to travel restrictions it means the local Morrisons rather than the exotic pleasures of Asda or Tesco.

Not sure what this means

Despicable behaviour trying to terrify people at a time when people have just had their christmas plans ripped up when it was probably the only thing they had to look forward to.

He should be ashamed of himself.
