Fantastic lineup announcement. Hoping for a pure techno Friday night. Daniel Avery into CDW would be excellent. I'd like to think Avery would bring out the big hitters rather than his more minimal stuff.

The radome thing sounds interesting, I wonder if the crane is the underlying structure for something like this, with visuals projected on it / massive screens:

I'm gutted Sunday is the Drum n Bass night at Arcadia. It means that the closest thing to me is somewhere I will avoid.

In a perfect world after the headliners Spektre will be on in the spaceport.

Just get yourself down the SEC with the rest of us 'til 5am, @FuzzyDunlop

Simple.

For reference, the spider was apparently 20m high, so Pangea is 2.5x taller. That's bonkers huge!

Damn this things gonna be a monster (possibly quite literally). Looking forward to seeing it in all its glory.

Spektre are on Friday, my man. Let's hope for more than one set across the weekend.

For me, today's Arcadia announcement has destroyed any plans of a Sober Sunday.

So there's no show this year then? Just the installation/stage itself (which does sound pretty awesome) and the DJs but I'm guessing none of the acrobatics etc?

I'd be surprised if there wasn't some performers attached as well, they had acrobats jumping of the spider before it had an official show.

I wouldn't be so sure. When the spider started there were no acrobats, I think the message I've been getting is that they are starting from scratch this year and will be adding to it as the years go by. Could be wrong though.

I think that's right. To be honest, as impressive as the shows were, they were never all that central to the experience of seeing an act at the spider.

In 2010 there was no show but there where definitely dancers and acrobats. Everything will be at bit more minimal as they work on ideas but I still expect a lot going on.

Was curious as I know someone that loves Black Madonna and a few people on here mentioned her.

Is this video representative of her sets? I find it a bit meh.

Also didn't realise she wasn't actually black, but presume everyone else already knew that :D

Yes and no. She switches up what she plays most of the time. I have seen her a few times, including at that pool party in the video, and she puts on a good show

I don't suppose any god like beings have created a playlist for Arcadia yet? Of course we have Brave Sir Robin's overall playlist but it's now so long I'm struggling to focus specifically on recent announcements.

Lots of DJs so a spotify playlist won't be very useful as they could play anything in their sets and some probably have nothing on spotify. Look at the names and go search on youtube, soundcloud, mixcloud etc

@Brave Sir Robin's

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
