  1. Prefer family guy. But the best episodes of that are the Simpsons guy part 1 and 2
  2. Missed Dolly. Still regret that to this day.
  3. Blue for some reason. Would love the op to let us know what the point of that question is ?

    Calling it a day

Can't think of a single reason why they'd call it a day after next year. It may be the 50th anniversary but that doesn't really mean much in the context of future festivals and so long as it's turning a profit and is a sell out it'll continue for a long time yet.

    Since 2015

Pretty much everything is bigger and better than it was in 2015 ?
  8. The Temple for raving followed by the stone circle for a bit of waffling while the sun comes up is my perfect glasto late night/early morning scenario.
  9. It really is the most magical place on earth. Walking through those gates and leaving all the stress and general bollocks outside for 5 days of hedonism is the best feeling ever. Unless you've been before there really is no way of describing not only the festival itself but the feeling that it gives you. I didn't get tickets this year and theres a good chance last year will be my final glastonbury and I'm totally OK with that. This decision has made me think of all the good times I've had over the last 20 odd years attending the best party on earth. It's meant the world to me and has shaped and influenced my life in more ways than I probably realise.

Can totally see that happening. Shame as it's a great club in a decent location.

    drugs - stay safe

The change is not just other people I totally agree with that. In comparison to when I was clubbing most weekends during the late 90s and 00s i definitely find it harder to spark up conversation with some randoms. I was referring to clubbing rather than festivals in my original post. Met some great people and had some wonderfully weird conversations with strangers at Glastonbury but in a club situation I find the atmosphere much less open. This has a lot to with the drugs clubbers take nowadays and the fact that I'm 15-20 years older than most of the ravers.

    drugs - stay safe

Maybe it's the drugs people are on (K in particular) or the fact that the younger generation have their eyes glued to their phones all night but I think days of "what you on where you from" kind of talk that leads to complete strangers being best mates for the night are long gone unfortunately.
  16. Very true. Will be epic no doubt about it
  17. Be interesting to see how this works and and who they get to play. I'm due to go to Lakota that night but might be persuaded to check this out if the lineups decent.

    drugs - stay safe

Tragic. My neighbour came back from creamfields today and said there was lots of very young very fucked up people. Maybe it wouldn't have helped in these awful circumstances but the sooner drugs testing facilities become the norm at festivals the better.

Thanks that's made my night. The best voice and personality in the world of pop.
  20. I'm 43 and have been taking the same drugs as you've mentioned for way too long plus some others now and then. My drug use is no doubt a contributing factor for where I find myself now but certainly not the only or maybe even the main reason. My usage is more likely just a trigger for some mental health issues I need to work through. Watching people chew their faces off is OK and actually fun for a while but then I just want to join them so it becomes frustrating after a bit. No way could I do that for 5 days and still have the time of my life!
  21. Sadly I think my time may be up. Firstly, this year's Glastonbury was the best I've had. Everything clicked for me. The weather, the company, the drugs, the music, the nightlife...it all came together and made for the best 5 days I've ever had over the last 20 years of going. I really prepped my body for this year. I've been going long enough to know the effort it takes and physically I had no issue after. However, mentally it was a struggle afterwards. Due to circumstances that I don't really fully understand yet I had some sort of break down last month about 4 weeks after Glastonbury. This wasn't solely down to Glastonbury (or the 5 days in Vegas which I went to a week after coming back from G) more a build up of things over the last year or so. Obviously spending 10 days off my face with hardly any sleep in a 3 week period didn't help. Very long story short is I went to my GP and now I am going through therapy but the result of all this is that I need to start doing things sober and definitely drug free for a while to try and sort myself out. Going out and doing things straight is an eye opener to say the least! So this leads to my problem with going to Glastonbury again. I've always associated Glastonbury with getting spangled and my best times at Glastonbury have always included me being off my tits. I think I'd like to keep my last memory of Glastonbury as my best. I know people will say they've done Glastonbury sober and it's no better or worse just different. I like to think I could do Glastonbury sober I just don't know if I want to try. Some things are just best left alone and at the moment I'm fine with that thought. Way too early to see how my situation will progress but Glastonbury is such a massive part of my life its gonna leave a big hole. I have got the chance to work next years festival which may be an option. I've always fancied working at the festival and it would definitely take away some of my desire to get on it as soon as I walk through the gates. If 2019 does turn out to be my last festival at least I'll know it was a vintage year and I certainly won't be sad about not going again. I've had way too many happy times with great friends to be anything but grateful for the last 20 years of Glastonbury. Onward and upward!

    Electronica/Dance

Brilliant idea but as you've said I wouldn't trust lakota to look after my coat never mind my phone. It should be a top night eats always seems to deliver.
  23. I was too late to see them at Glastonbury massive crowd couldn't get any where near the tent so will hopefully catch them at Boomtown. I thought they looked good on the iplayer.

Been watching Tomorrowland streams over the weekend that looks like a seriously good festival. Amazing stages/production and a great lineup. Anyone on here been? Very tempted to try for tickets next year.
