I lucked out seeing them 3 times last year. There's a couple of older songs 'What Lucy Found There' and 'Ode to Clio' that I've been obsessed with. Like Dark Star says, they're doing a more robust tour in the autumn.

Man, looking at those venues, it's clear Royal Blood, Vaselines and Bodega are all definitely finding their appeal is becoming more selective.

Not much chatter about Paul McCartney UK/EU shows this coming Autumn/Winter after the previous 'rumours' earlier in the year 

 

The O2 is filling up, maybe a few shows in Liverpool

Tbf these are Royal Blood's first gigs in 2 years, so I'm assuming these newly announced gigs were warm-up gigs.

 

Whether they're still an arena-level act like they were in 2022 is another debate.

Bush Hall is quite big for Vaselines in London, saw them at The Lexington a couple of years ago although sometimes they are a full band other times a duo

I think those Royal Blood shows are deliberately at small venues tbf, reckon they could easily do a bigger tour

Just to touch back on this, my head is absolutely scrambled from the heat and everything, procrastinating etc etc but I handed my notice in yesterday.

I woke up in the morning fully in thought get out, woke up today with a completely different mindset of have I done the right thing. 

I can't go back on it now as I know the deal and if I decided to leave later now it's virtually for the same reasons as now.

So when they try and take £45 off of me for not washing my truck that will be working time spent illegally it'll remind me why I originally wanted to. There are multiple deductions they either don't make clear or explain the amounts to you about until it happens.

Or when I run out of working/driving time, have to wait to be recovered and then still expected to start the next day on a reduced hours rest.

Lastly, when I say to them next aboit my 11 hours fails rest entitlement, I won't have them contacting HR to remind me that as per my contact I'm expected to fulfil duties as and when the company needs it which can change on a daily basis.....including areas of work I wasn't informed about when I started.

 

Of course multiple points of this will be in a contract but I'll admit I don't read every bit of small print. So while I can't deny I would have signed for it, they sre rules where some are very rare if at all implemented into a drivers contract. Recently I have been driving further afield into areas I don't know, tighter roads, road works around people who clearly drive the area regularly and I have come very close to touching others with some part of my lorry. In general, you would report that, there will be an investigation etc but in my company we have an excess upto £1000 that we have to pay out of our incentive bonus weekly until it is covered even though they are insured.

That's one big reason I had to go.

But when you put it in, the reality of dropping £40-45k a year isn't the easiest to take.

For the aftermath, I am going to go and see David Guetta at Silverstone now next Thursday, get there early enough for Biffy Clyro at Finsbury to see Marmozets I believe and probably book myself for Kendall Calling as well and give it a whirl.

I always said if I feel anything stops me from being able to gym or get out running which is absolutely vital to me for mentally stability then decisions need making. I know you can't run easy in this heat but if it was 20 I could.

I spent Saturday just gone after parkrun like a zombie recovering.
