I'll ask again, but...... my source was adamant they weren't playing

Don't ruin the dream on me mate. It is nice to still have possibilities on the go :)

Wow! Capitals!! You seem quite sure of that. Why wouldn't that happen?

Licensing issues and the fact that it would be a health and safety nightmare. Stick any recognised act on the Pyramid with nothing up against it and all 200,000 people will turn up to watch it.

Health and safety, schmelth and safety. They've put the football on the Pyramid before and it was full then, but everyone was fine.

But you're right about the license.

Like they did for the footie in 2004 or 2005 can't remember which it was. Either way everything was fine. The world didn't end.

Studying the licence itself, it appears that it's not that they can't have acts on the Pyramid on Thursday, but that they can only have sound above a certain level Friday - Sunday. So they could technically have acts on the Pyramid Thursday, just really really really quiet ones.. sssshhhhhh.

Where can I see the license? I thought they were specifically precluded from live acts on the outdoor stages.

The football in 2010 was on Wednesday afternoon so not everyone was in. There was a lower capacity in 2004 so there wasn't as much strain on the field as there would be this year. I could see more people trting to cram into the field than would be safe.
