Ffs, this thread was on 17 pages when I went to bed. I've just spent the last hour and a half catching up on the remaining 20 pages thinking I'd have missed something big and I've learned the sum total of fuck all!

Well played efests. Well played.

Can someone please summarise the last 37 pages or it just 37 pages of wild stabbing around in the dark?

Everyone who isn't already on the poster (and even some that are) have been stabbed at. No one had been hit.

They've said they're not doing it and it would mean them playing shows on consecutive nights, which they're not doing once on their tour. It isn't Depeche Mode.

They're going to celebrate the anniversary of the Park on a stage that isn't the Park? Gorillaz (or anyone else) secret set on the Pyramid to celebrate 10 years of the Park Stage? Any celebrations of the Park's anniversary will be in the Park.

Park.

Anderson Park.

Doesn't sound like a word anymore.

I thought Dave Gahan said it would be fitting if they did it one day, when asked. You are totally correct about the consecutive day thing and it would seem a little out of character for them when you look at their schedule.

Yet I would not rule them out just yet. I don't think we can really take anything from anyone from within their camp denying they would be playing. Their biggest ever UK gig was just about to go on sale, when they were asked. No band would admit to playing Glastonbury under the same circumstances.

I never thought they would play that 6 Music festival, yet they did. Maybe they are prepared to take lower than usual  bookings at home, in exchange for increased exposure.

I could only see them on the Sunday up against Ed. They are in Italy on the Saturday and Monday, yet I am sure they could afford a private plane.

After all that, it will probably be Take That. It is nice though to have a few major unknown unknowns this late in the day.

I'll ask again, but...... my source was adamant they weren't playing

No need to read anything but the last page, every 10 pages is just the same bands mentioned repeatedly, interspersed with somebody suggesting Coldplay thinking they're being really clever but in fact they're the 84th person to say Coldplay so far.

Does the fact that I mentioned Chris Martin back on page one make me actually really clever then?B)

So you're saying it's not Coldplay?

Anyone said ABBA yet?

If it was page one, and I'll take your word for it that it was, then yes you can have a gold star and a free ticket for the next festival for mentioning them/him first ;)

Hmm, the next festival. That would be next month. Could you organise that free ticket as soon as possible since I've been camped out in the secret resale thread for 3 days.

Without trawling through all the back pages, what is the general thoughts on times and stage for this surprise?

I assume if this is to be revealed soon, it won't be a 'secret' gig somewhere but a proper listed act.

Given that it is a huge act, do we think it'll be a Pyramid headline sub or Legends Slot or even possibly a new Thursday Pyramid act?

    • While i whole heartedly agree with both these statements on a personal preference level -     ive come to reluctantly accept that bland is always popular and il normally just show myself to the other stages where the better times are to be had during the Pyramid headliner slots.
    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
