Are you saying that the line up mostly comprises synthetic images of projected light, designed to fool the viewer......?

It's the line up that's been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the troof Cally.

This thread is the efests equiv of Zion from the Matrix. Has been destroyed and recreated 9 times because the Machines want to give the illusion of a decent lineup.

When you hover over her on the line up it says "The Radio 1 tastemaker turns the Peel stage into a giant electronic dancefloor filled with gyrating party goers. How does she do that?"

I find it very difficult to see how someone who basically plays records on the radio should headline the John Peel Tent, above the likes of Ride, Future Islands, Clean Bandit etc.  I'm certain there is something planned there.

If the dream comes true and Noel and Liam re-unite at Glastonbury it'll be just like Knebworth all over again

:D

i.e. I'll not bother going.

Didn't go Knebworth, but Wembley was enough piss for me

she is a club DJ of many years.

a radio DJ first, granted, but she's put the graft in the nightclubs over the last 15 years or so, and has been a regular at the festival in that time.

Yes, I understand what you are saying but she's still only a DJ. Have we ever had any DJs headline the JP stage before?

Maybe they're fed up with a bunch of guys with guitars and delay pedals turned up full?

Actually the guys thing is a good point. Didn't Emily say the bookers should pay attention to the gender of their artists, even if it wasn't an act they'd usually book and they didn't especially like it (that's being told what to book, not the act)?

Yeah but wooders, its provided you with some prime piss taking material. No? ;D win win.

Now for fucks sake why has nobody mentioned a bit of fine ass Jim Morrison hologram and a bonfire of blankets in the middle of the pyramid field while we do the conga nekkid. Sure as hell beats those fucking 'flash mobs'

Just noticed something interesting on Clashfinder.  When you hover of the Annie Mac entry you get this cryptic message about her description.....

"Special Purpose Artist - Do not add releases here, if possible."

That doesn't sound the biog of a DJ.  I suspect she's only there to introduce someone special.  Thoughts?

Even though that is odd and also somewhat intriguing, I can't see the big secret clashing with Radiohead,

I think that it's generally understood on here that I know very little about music, and even less about what is going on in the music world. However, I clicked on this thread to have a look and at that moment my wife put on an REM track. Not sure if they have been mentioned before / ruled out etc, but with the same blind faith that makes me buy bloody lottery tickets I'm going to say REM.

Please be kind. After all, shooting fish in a barrel is no fun. Or is it? Oh well, I'll soon know.

Been mentioned a few times here and there. I can't think of a band who I would be more excited to see reform and visit the festival again. I feel like the world need R.E.M. back again.

Oh, thank you themuel. I was expecting to be laughed off the premises. I've been laughed out of better places than this before! lol :)

No, there is a gap they left which needs filling. It may as well be by them. It seems that it is incredibly unlikely, but I will continue to wish anyway.

Completely agree. The world needs REM right now.

From what I know of them, I fully understand the sentiment that the world needs them now.

For some reason the above has reminded me of something that I read happened in Afghanistan a number of years ago. Apparently the forces of the west had managed to get together the heads of many different tribes to hold a meeting - something not easily done. Anyway, while they are all waiting there for it to begin, a junior officer put on one of David Attenborough's documentaries Blue Planet. Not sure if there was a translator present, but they all got it and were transfixed by it. Then some higher up official turns up and screams for the footage to be turned off. What a wasted moment in time. I guess we can't rely on those higher up to get the job done. Which means that it's up to us to do it I reckon. Peace.

Yes Fatboy Slim last year.

Not only did he not headline but he's also a producer of music in his own right. He just doesn't play other people's records.

If it is 'just' Annie Mac, I think it's a very lazy booking, for a headliner.

Shows how good my memory is.

She was was probably down to sub Dizzee and she was then bumped up when Dizzee was moved over to WH to replace ATCQ.
