What is that about? It started to play and then I had a 'this media is not available' message popped up.

It's pretty much a film clip of him saying that he won't be there to introduce Rushmore, and neither will Rushmore off of Rushmore.

Though I see someone's started a thread saying that him and Rushmore saying that they won't be there could be a clue that they will be there - so at this point we're pretty much through the Looking Glass.

The standard position for Glastonbury rumours then.

3. Hmmm...

This is AGONY. I’m gnawing my fist here… Because there’s an unannounced band that I know is playing a secret set at Glastonbury. They’re big. But are they "really big surprise" big? I just don't know. I’ve promised not to name them. I'm sorry. I’d tell but I’d be consigned to Monday morning litter-picking duty from now to eternity. What can I say?

They’ve played there before and they’ll go down an absolute treat. Oh no, I’ve said too much. (It’s not them). Bigmouth almost strikes again. (It’s not them either). It’ll be a beautiful day. (Nope). But are they Emily’s big secret? 4-1

This has to be the Park TBA at Friday 19:30...

Has to be Gorillaz right...?

So how are we even going to find out about The Big Secret? Will it be in the programme? Will it be announced beforehand with a high-profile tweet from GF? Or will it be a secret set kept so secret that we'll only find out about it in abject disappointment on the Tuesday after the fest from the lucky few who happened to be passing the right stage at the right time?

Or will we never really know for sure what it was! That would be maddening

Reading this again though:

“I haven’t even hinted or told anyone it’s coming and we’ve managed to keep it completely quiet for the first time ever,"

That can't be Liam Gallagher, his new album isn't due out until later on in the year, so would the Eavis's have trusted it would've been any good 6+ months ago when they first knew about this secret?

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
