Back to a topic from earlier then. The Killers are active. Not that I think it’ll happen, especially without a new album until 2020.

Kid Rock? Sting? Pitbull? Bush?

Is this the worst festival lineup of all time?

Personally I don't think any American line-up is better

Was so disappointed with their Reading set in 2011, would love to see them do a late tent set

agree, late and kicked up a fuss when they were told they were going to run over the curfew. Probably the worst headliner i ever saw at Reading (2011-15).

It’s in Texas.

Texas in May. Glastonbury is at the end of June.

Seems unlikely that they would only play one US festival next summer, a few US dates in May before a jaunt around the European summer fests is hardly inconceivable.

I'm not saying they'll play, but they have to be considered.

One-off payday not far from home. Happens quite often really.

I know they're not the biggest band in the world and they haven't completely lived up to their first album since but they are maybe the coolest new York band ever and they do show flashes of brilliance. I'd say this thread has convinced me that Interpol are headlining Glastonbury 2019. On the Sunday for the locals, obviously.

I mean I'm not sure i agree that New Jersey is the same as New York, although the New Jersey people like to they're New Yorkers, i also prefer Born to Run to Greetings from Asbury Park. But it's great that you're convinved that Bruce and the E Street Band are headlining this year now.

Just musically speaking is Lady Gaga any bigger than Katy Perry?

Gaga's last tour grossed $94 mill over 49 shows with a bunch of cancelled tour dates

Perry's last tour grossed $28 mill over 119 shows

EDIT: Admittedly these are global figures so may not be the best guidline but

Garbage

St Paul & The Babs

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
