Next year’s headliner sorted...

I wouldn’t put it past them...

I have an inkling that Muse may never headline Glastonbury again due to their increasingly shit output and how little people seem to care about it (or at least I assume - are their big fans of post-Black Hole Muse?) They seemed like a weak headliner in 2016 so with a couple more garbage albums I could see them being passed on, even with their history with the festival. Or maybe that's just my very black and white view of it and they'll be back to headline in a couple of years time.

no one asked you to lol and if I got the better odds anyway then I'm not too sure your joke is up to much

Yes it is, as whether you got the equivalent (not better) odds, that was luck rather than judgement! Kenny Rogers pities the fool ???

Well they aren't going to headline next year and tbh their crowd was way off the size I expected in 2016.

I'm becoming convinced that they've made enough money and are comfortable with the fact that they put out some good stuff in their prime so that they are now just fucking with us.

There is no other explanation for how you get from Plug In Baby to this.

I think it's more that they've made enough money and are comfortable with the fact they've put out some good stuff in their prime so that now they're just doing what the fuck they want knowing there can't really be any bad consequences.

Can't really blame them; I'd love to be in that position. Releasing bollocks like Dig Down and still headlining festivals and stadiums to a bunch of rabid weirdos.

They have basically gone hugely mainstream to try and still appeal as much as they can.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
