Surely bio-degradable confetti is a thing

It is. Paper cups, paper plates, napkins, wooden forks, etc. are all biodegradable but they still have to be picked, one by one, by hand, off the ground the next morning though!

I expect one of the best gigs of the weekend if you like their hits full of lights and colour and possibly a few special guests.

I like Coldplay but didn't expect them to be that good live but when I saw them at Rock Werchter they were fantastic even non Coldplay fans were impressed.

I went with the group and saw them in 2011, they were very good. I expect them to be very good yet again. Whilst they are not entirely to my taste (I do like a few songs) they will not be shit. If you do go to see them you will be entertained.

I will be at Earth Wind & Fire though, or somewhere else if EW&F are another night.

I still have one....which for a while used to light up randomly every now and then...never found out why.

I was at the same gig, mine and the OH's didn't light up in the stadium but as we got on the tube they suddenly lit up amusing everyone in the carriage.

shit, i've just remember we've all signed pledge. Leave no trace, does that include Chris Martin?

Yes. Please do not deposit Chris Martins on the ground. They're potentially very harmful to cows and should be placed in the correct recycling bins or, preferably, taken home with you when you leave.

I'd love parachutes in its entirety, followed by a short very select greatest hits set. Stripped back, simple, effective.

i expect a something very different!

I might even have gone to watch that.

I seen coldplay at sunderland stadium of light my wristband didnt work at the gig then startes flashing like crazy when i was in bed, then randomly after that. It was absolutly pissing down that night but it was a brilliant show. I like how they make the effort with the croud. Il probs see them again. And i think beyonce cud maybe make an appearance there. My girlffriend is going to see her live at stadium of light the day after glasto on the tuesday!

It's no Grace, which it tries hard to be, but it's still a decent album.

Shiver, Trouble, Yellow, Everythings Not Lost all canny singles.

I'd be lying if I said it got played more than once every couple of years mind.

Parachutes. Very much of its time is about right. I loved the album when I was 14 as it was one of the first 'proper' albums I got into independently. For that it will always have a place in my nostalgic heart.

Now i think about it, I actually come about that album after swapping it with a friend at school for a 2Pac cd! Symbolic changing of the guard you might say....

Parachutes and AROBTTH are very good albums imo. If I could guarantee a set with only them songs, I would be well up for that. I've got absolutely no interest in seeing a mixed Coldplay set though.

Where does this myth that parachutes is amazing come from? I was guilty of thinking it myself. Then I listened to it the other month for the first time in years: it's complete shit.

Im proud to say: "I've always thought they were shit"

Surely people know what to expect with Coldplay by now?

Expect pain:

I heard they were doing this but that's worse than I imagined. To be fair, at least they put their own spin on it...i.e. it's boring as fuck.

Best to 'deflate' them first as well.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
