i can tell you it stopped in brizzle about 2 hours ago ... there's a few patches of blue sky and the sun is trying to break thru, but it's not going to do much in the way of drying sodden ground.

I think we're expecting that most of it will go down the way rather than evaporate in the sun.

How deep the water table is is anyone's guess, but the dry spring and early summer (up until the middle of last week) should - theoretically at least - be in our favour.

Met office with a SLIGHT improvement? Check those precipitation probabilities. I like those odds.

Yes, looked earlier and it says rain only Wednesday?

There is a post a few above that suggests this time last year the met office was the most accurate.

I don't like the look of those snakes coming out the ground.

At least that's the one bit we'll likely have confidence in when we set off, hopefully there's reasonable predictions when it gets to a few hours away.  It's all the dry and sunny in the days further ahead that I'll worry about disappearing before we actually get near to them

It's looked like pretty good conditions with a few showers for the last week. There was rain at the weekend and this morning that has freaked everyone out, but this was predicted. All down to how well the ground recovers, but I'm with @CaledonianGonzo on this. There should be enough capacity after the dry Spring.

New aggregated weather has changed since 15 hours ago. We now have:

Wed- light rain

Thur- light rain / cloud

Fri- rain (big swing, previously sun)

Sat- rain (another swing from Sun to rain)

Sun- Mixed.

The fact it has swung so much in under 15 hours means it will be one of those "could go either way" - prepare for all types of weather. At least it isnt 24/7 rain all week. Think positive. By this evening they could all predict sun again.

This afternoon's aggregated weather has generally swung towards more positive conditions:

Wed-cloud

Thur-light rain

Fri-sun and rain

Sat-light rain

Sun-sun and cloud

Just heading off to Warminster to corral with the cousins before heading into East campervan fields tomorrow morning. This thread has been as mad as ever,  and in its own way is every bit as stressful as t day.

Will report from there in  the morning but until then,  toodle pip.
