More press speculation on Spice Girls reforming for 20th anniversary, with NME reporting the comeback is confirmed. Could they be the none rumoured shock Emily referred to in the interview a while back?

Not without Posh B

She would like to duet with any of the songstresses featured on the album: " I think Alicia and I, and Adele and I, and maybe Gladys (Knight) could do something amazing. Any of them, really."

That would be pretty spectacular. An Adele and Aretha duet live.

I know The Eagles have been mentioned in this thread a few times, being reported that Glen Frey has passed away.

Really not a good year to be an ageing rock star.

saw the Eagles at the o2 a couple of years ago and they were fantastic.

brian wilson playing primavera, doing pet sounds. Did anyone see that coming? I wonder if glastonbury would ever repeat a legend? Though I dont like full album shows much.

First time I ever saw him, or a full album show from anyone, was Pet Sounds. 2002 I think. Nice to see the songs but yeah, I don't like full album shows either.

Its the knowing whats coming next element that I don't like. Would much rather hear the tunes dropped into the set randomly. Knowing God Only Knows is in 6 minutes isn't as much fun as it dropping when you're busy pissing into a bottle of Volvic.

yeah that's my thoughts too. Plus there are always one or two that dont work live. The whole experience is unsatisfying really

There's something to be said for songs appearing in the order they should.  As Marc Riley said after playing Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing Reprise "and then it's Rebel Rebel".  You know Rebel Rebel comes next, there is a rightness and satisfaction that comes from hearing the songs in the correct, familiar order.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
