NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I've seen Mik and the lads a fair few times at Glasto, but the set on the woodland stage at BT was the funniest, no question. You know how some people hear a joke on Facebook or whatever, and reply with an over-exaggerated 'I'm literally dying!'? For once, that wouldn't be far off! I was doubled over with laughing, and seriously struggling to breathe. Tears streaming and everything!

I can usually see the stage, which is handy!

Pity you couldn't get rid of that weird lanky bloke in the loud tie-dye shirt, though!

Sorry about the slow reply, Quark, I've been getting twatted in a field all weekend! I think it's just the Little Big Top (dance tent) that goes on late. As I recall, they go until 2a.m., followed by a silent disco. The other stages finish by midnight. Any other questions, give me a shout!

Hi everyone i concur with what @Curlygirl said, Bearded was superb! Quite a trek from Somerset, but we'll worth it. The crowd was so friendly, the sound was great, the range of acts was excellent. I'm only just beginning to function like a normal (ish) human being again, but I'm already convinced I'll be paying many more visits to Derbyshire in the years to come!

No mead this year, Quark, but I will be well stocked with no less than 6 home infused spirits!

The 2 I really don't want to miss are Fun Lovin' Criminals and Jimmy Cliff. There are a few others I'd like to see, but have seen before. Im 6 foot 3, and I'll have an inflatable t-rex, so I'd be surprised if anyone struggles to spot me!

I will do my best to be a recognisable meeting point, as long as I'm free. Unfortunately I don't find out my shifts until I arrive, but fingers crossed! I'm thinking it'll be worth waiting a wee bit until a few have got together, then find a spot and let everyone else know where. Even if I am on shift, I'll catch up with you and the rest of the camp later in the day It does sound like a great fest, from what I've seen, too. I'm just hoping I'm free on Saturday, and Sunday evening, so I can see my 2 top acts. Missed one of my faves at Beautiful Days last year, which was a bit of a shame.

What sort of time are you expecting to arrive, @Curlygirl? Looking forward to seeing you there!

Have a look at Bearded Theory. It's in a few weeks. Not sure if there are tickets left on their website, but plenty available for face value through the FB chat group. I'll be there, as will several other efesters. Should be a good boost after a long cold winter and 'spring'.

Surely some cream from the doctor would sort that out, if you've got 2 months?

I'm starting to get the 'eye-rolling' looks from Mrs gumby, as I've brought my flask, water bottles and camping mug down from the loft to be washed, and there's still 3 weeks to go before Bearded. Is it wrong to be getting ready a bit?

Morning all Great gig last night. Feeling a bit achey this morning, though! One of the supports was a Canadian band called Arkells. If you haven't heard them, I'd recommend giving them a listen. Feel good pop-rock, but better than that makes them sound! So good to get out and see some live music again, it's been too long!

I've never actually been to Donington or Download, but I think I can safely say that BDs is indeed the complete opposite! I'd definitely recommend it

I reckon it's only about a kilometre from the festival gates to the Bimble Inn, which is the furthest point on site, so it's nothing compared to the pounding your legs take at Glasto. Depending where you camp, you can even be closer than that to everything. I'll be there again this August, some great stuff on the lineup! Also off to Bearded Theory next month. Bit of a trek for me, but looking forward to trying it! One thing this year so far has taught me, is that you never know how long you've got, so I want to get out there and experience the good stuff while I can.

Having only been to Glastonbury before, I went to my first smaller festival last year. I went to Beautiful Days, which is only about 10% the capacity of Glasto. I was unsure myself about it, but I needn't have been. There was plenty to see and do, you don't have to have over a hundred stages to choose from! I'll always be excited about going to Glasto, but being able to get from one stage to another in a few minutes, rather than trekking for an hour, made a nice change. Go on, give one a go!

I can't claim to be a brizzle expert, but we were up there recently for Mrs gumby's 40th, and I'd recommend The Cuban, on Harbourside. Decent tunes, and very nice cocktails! Whatever you do, stay away from Prizm nightclub, unless you're under 25!
