Sack it off altogether. Mainly because hope always gets the better of me. What can I say? I never learn.

Blondie was a good laugh due to the crowd we were around but you have a point. Hopefully someone good this year though, Kula Shaker would be taking the piss. Struggling to think of viable bands mind. We were doing tequila shots in the lunchtime drizzle watching blondie. Throw into the equation a sign language woman with some truly memorable hand gestures, friendly people surrounding us and you have a perfect glastonbury memory. I've had worse fridays
brettredmayne
I now want shed 7 thanks to this thread, I would quite enjoy a bit of disco down.
Mardy
Hehehe, the charlatans, shed 7, kula shaker, primal scream. It's the Other stage, not 'bands from the Other century' stage.

stuartbert two hats
I really enjoyed Blondie. Not in a 'because of the crowd' sense, or a 'alright for their age' sense. I just really enjoyed them playing. Just as I did in 1999 on the Pyramid. I simply think Blondie are good. So there! They should have been in the same slot mind. Failing that Grant Nicholas doing his solo stuff on the acoustic stage might be nice too.
Untz
But Feeder aren't Northern. And I don't think I could handle the young whippersnappers asking what a CD player is.

Gnomicide
I like it when it's someone I'm not bothered about so I can go to the proper festival opener i.e. Hobo on Avalon stage. So yeah, Kula Shaker would be perfect.

CaledonianGonzo
I know next to nothing about Busted, but it's a reasonable expectation that they'd be more fun than whatever warmed-up Britpop leftovers are actually on the cards. SwedgeAntilles
The abandoning of the 'Mc' prefix does allow for a Scottish tribute act to use that name Watch this space.

I happened to be in the photo pit when Fightstar - Charlie from Busted's 'credible' band - first played Reading Festival. The hail of bottles at the start was a lot of fun dodging, both for snappers like me and for the band. Charlie just kept on playing, and while their style wasn't my thing they put in a more-than-decent performance, better than plenty of other 'big' bands I saw that weekend. He said he'd never go back to Busted, but I guess the wonga gets ever more tempting if a new project doesn't make the big time.

Amy Lawn
Crazy how lucrative comebacks, reformations, remakes etc are these days. If you made something 12+ years ago, you're quids in.
