Other Stage Friday Special Guests

So, realisticaly, if the charlatans were not in this 'spoecial guest' slot, where would they be. I'd say, what, down the bill on the other anyway, maybe mid afternoon, say Vaccines/c**tfish and the Bottlemen size?

I kind of expected them to be at the Park stage, maybe subbing that stage ahead of the headliner. Tim Burgess is often in that part of the festival around the Crows Nest and their music often features in the Baggie Mondays Thursday DJ set at The Stonebridge Bar

Think they would work better there with a smaller crowd wanting to see them. Other Stage tends to get the big groups of camping chair punters who set up camp all day and natter and aren't that fussed whose playing

I think Emily Eavis said that there will be a piece of art going on the top of the stage like they do with the pyramid and made by the same people

I know it was 99.9% expected to be the Charlatans, but to confirm it definitely is them.

A fried spoke to one of them over the weekend and they confirmed its them.

I really do not understand what people want to open a festival. The Charlatans is a damn good start.

I know you meant it as a joke, but Hot Chip would be such a brilliant Other stage opener. I wish that was happening instead.

I'll come along and check this slot out (If only because I secretly hope Bastille jump out from behind the curtain and I hear 20 efesters shout "Fuck!" in unison) but the Charlatans don't do much for me.

I was just telling a friend how Kaiser Chiefs filled in for someone last year after they had to cancel this slot, i believe it was a female act but can't for the life of me remember who it was?

Well I'd 2nd that, it was absolutely brilliant. 

The guy from The Hives said why is best act on 1st, it was that day, I didn't seem to gel with The Artic Monkeys

about 10-11 hours later Portishead finished up on that field, and there was no need for any further talk about best act & set of the day...

Beady Eye. Kaiser Chiefs. The Charlatans. god i hope this pattern of stupidly disappointing has-beens doesn't continue. The Charlatans especially was just a puzzling booking, even moreso than Kaisers the year before who were already playing later that same day. needless to say expectations are massively downgraded for this year. i just hope whoever it is doesn't ruin any element of surprise like The Charlatans did months beforehand. never have i seen a 'secret' act so desperate to pull some sort of a crowd/so obviously scared that people will leaves in droves upon realising it's them
