Should we swap Hot Chip then with The Charlatans? Let Hot Chip open and The Charlatans headline West Holts.

I really do not understand what people want to open a festival. The Charlatans is a damn good start.

Sure. That'll mean I can catch SFA.

I will see SFA the week after when they support The Charlatans. I will be honest, I thought they were crap back in the end but am going to give them ago with an open mind.

Thing is, I love SFA, but think they'd be a poor call to open the other on the Friday. It's not like they're so very far out of the mainstream, but they still manage to go over a lot of people's heads.

I was on about Hot Chip opening it so I can see SFA on The Park later on. Make it happen Eavis.

Hot Chip opening would be an absoulte waste I think. They are on fire at the minute and at the peak of their powers. SFA are an acquired taste and do not have the hits to open the festival with a bang.

The Charlatans do. I honestly think it is a perfect choice.

It would, but I'm incredibly selfish and would like to see both Hot Chip and SFA.

Trip to Manchester the week after not appeal to you? The Charlatans on "home" turf would also make an enjoyable evening.

The Charlatans aint really a manchester band. and the Kaiser chiefs were from leeds. Also the majority of Beady eye aint from manchester..

there you go again.. trying to win your argument with "facts" and "logic"!

Prefer it to be someone who's not on the bill already

Kaiser chiefs were never supposed to be the special guest openers, they filled in at the last minute.

What's the argument though. No one's said the special guest is always from Manchester. Is he arguing with himself?

Why are the Special Guests always from Manchester? It's getting predictable now.

It's a damn good start, if you like The Charlatans, I think they are w*nk awful

But yet again I haven't watched either of the last two other stage openers for the same reasons, so I had 0 expectations
