In French speaking countries he’s massive. The same way that Rosalia and Bad Bunny are gigantic in their native markets. That will massively skew the listening figures.

Switching around the 3 streams, it seems to be completely acceptable for top acts to sing along to a CDs/ MP3s now. I know this was normal for your average shit pop act in the 90s but it's creeping into more and more 'legitimate' acts. It's just easier and lazy but nearly never sounds as good as with a live band/ other musicians on stage whatever the genre. The most depressing thing is 95% of the audience wouldn't even notice/ care either way.

I thought this watching Megan Thee Stallion, I’m pretty sure for every song the actual track was playing, complete with her pre-recorded lyrics and she occasionally sung over it (and the audio was much quieter when she did) but half the time it was just the vocal on the pre-recorded track you could hear?

I agree. I think she's miming some of it. I actually just watched some of her glasto and she's doing a similar thing. 

She's great but I'm not sure why this appears so. Happy to be corrected.

I think so yes. It's hard to tell though as the Coachella sound on TV has been so up and down.

I think it’s probably to enable the dancing/sprinting around, which would clearly leave anyone too out of breathe to have the voice control she requires.

i’d prefer she stayed still than mimed but it’s a big stage to fill if you’re basically motionless

Didn’t seem to bother people when Beyoncé did it in 2011, so shouldn’t  bother people when others do it. You can’t run and sing at the same time, if an act spends all their time running or dancing, they aren’t singing. That’s what they have backing singers for.

Stromae is headlining/subbing festivals all over Europe - not just in French speaking countries. He's a decently sized act, definitely bigger than SH headline.
