i cant see it been macca ,i think these old timers do glasto and then cross it off their list ,saw him when he last played and enjoyed it as a one off and thats how it should be,

only one id make an exception to see again would be bowie ,

foos --rock fri

kanye ---- rap sat

taylor ----pop sun

three genres covered too keep glasto punters happy [ headline wise anyway]

fair play to em for keeping it secret this long no mean feat in this day and age.

hope im wrong on kanye and taylor tho :good:

best kept secret since the who shot jr story in the 80`s

The Who back in the pot? Announced for BST on Friday 26th, I cant see 'exclusive' or the such anywhere....

It could only be Saturday, but that would mean playing four nights in a row as they are in Paris Sunday and Monday. Very unlikely

I'm just trying to lower your expectations, I think this talk of someone being given a step up will be someone smaller than mentioned previously in this thread....probably some questionable indie band and then a more established pop based headliner.

Id see them as a low rent support act these days, propped up by Ricky Wilsons celeb status, such as it is.

They really are now aren't they. Recent output from them has pushed them down festival lineups surely.

I must say though they are a decent live band who work well as a support

They also have a gig on the Sunday (and Monday) in Paris. 4 nights on the trot with travel inbetween seems unlikely.

Weller though?

Ah I did not know that, that's not going to happen then!

Ohhhh I'm loving the suspense this year!

Im suprised they are still doing as much as they do really. Intial album was fun, but its been a downward slide since then. Without the TV work boost they'd surely be doing small local events with The Fratellis and The Hoosiers?

And how about the Killers? Have they been and gone (in the thread, I mean)?

I'm sure they've come up at some point

There isn't anything really to rule them out, but they haven't done a lot recently to earn a headline slot

    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.

    • Chill. There is no chance Sziget will be cancelled by the government. Even the prime minister held a press conference today, where he confirmed this.   Magyar said they do not want to shut down the country or prevent events from taking place. He gave the example that vetoing an event would be like completely cutting off a large consumer’s electricity supply for the organizers. However, just as they have not taken such a measure against large consumers, they have not taken steps to cancel events either. (Magyar did not name a specific event, but he was presumably referring specifically to the Sziget Festival.) At the same time, Péter Magyar stressed that if disruptions occur in the system or the heatwave persists, it could become necessary to postpone or reschedule events (example: some Hungarian football games will probably be held in daylight, moved to a few hours earlier, to save energy), although he believes there is currently little chance of that happening. This is particularly true for events that rely entirely, or largely, on their own energy sources.
    • If the campervan field residents aren’t allowed to cut through orchid they’ve got a brutal walk on their hands.   otherwise not too many surprises
