Ok I'm going to suggest...

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Had literally just stuck some JT on, and then come into this thread and seen this, spooky!

I don't know how good he is live, but everything he's recorded apart from about 3 songs is shit.

For many people, the headers will still sell it etc. 2008 has gonw down as not a good year for the fest. I would imagine we are very much going to know the headers before the balance pay off period is over and the ticket resale.

Rappers only go down well topping certain events, not even Jay Z has returned since subbing T a few years back to headline it. And let's be honest, Eminem is in a different league and size here compared to Kanye.

it's weird that Jay-Z gets the blame for that year, when the amount of absolute shit on the rest of the lineup was far worse imo, eg. The Fratellis subbing the Pyramid, Panic at the Disco headlining Other. it's like a who's who of indie landfill rubbish from the back then - The Pigeon Detectives, The Hoosiers, The Wombats, Scouting For Girls, The Enemy, etc. etc.

even Friday headliners Kings of Leon weren't that big really at the time as they had yet to release Sex on Fire and fully crossover to the mainstream...

Think Glasto missed the boat with Justin, 2013 would have been the perfect year but he asks for too much money I reckon.

Kanye seems to play a lot of US and Eu festivals, do you reckon his fee is manageable for Glastonbury? Considering he's headlined a couple of Eu festivals that aren't that well known.

Ok, do you reckon Kanye or Taylor Swift would be more controversial?

You might be asking the wrong person as I'm unsure if I'm honest I can given an opinion without being a little biased! But I'll put it in a different way, Taylor Swift got booked for a BST event and has sold it out well before time, wasn't it said she's the only person ever to sell a BST event out?, a gig that that won't consist of just parents and their kids. Kanye wouldn't get a look in for BST.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

He'd be Sunday I would think.

If we have waited this long for Justin Timberlake il have to cry and console myself with valium

I personally doubt you have.

I admit it wasn't a great year overall booking wise and KOL looked clearly like they were a stand in, but there will still be a major amount of people who want to end their night with the Pyramid headers and there is no doubt about it that Jay-Z created a lot of issue's, Eavis know this.

I think whoever headlines, we should just mutually agree to get smashed &... go to the Brothers Bar & have an eFests sing-a-long.

Avalon Inn Wed afternoon before Brothers Bar in the sun, sorted!

even worse scenario: another year of "final headliner TBA" when the lineup comes out

If they are both booked, the only reason that would happen is if the final headliner was an exclusive at another festival...which would start the FM rumours off again!!

I had actually considered this and what we know from last year is, they aren't going to make a point of having the TBA as a special headliner.

Wasn't the issue last year that they had to wait for Sonisphere to sell out?

    • Spring (or early) next year now.   Says to me that the album is/was delayed. I've done some digging but not had anything beyond that.
    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
