Nope, I find it hard to understand the love for them

depends whether you like the genre i guess, because they are pretty much the peak of their genre!

as a side not, please tell me the "green army" is a reference to plymouth argyle?

I forgot gazza hated Kanye

I mean fairplay to the guy, single handedly got a festival to fall on it's arse!

I'd like to know after all the Jay-Z problems, selling out etc, why Kanye would even be considered!

He has his own fans much more than a broader appeal I'd say.

Yep, don't worry his appearance is very unlikely.

I would be amazed if Michael eavis repeated that mistake. Just as I'd be amazed if another metal band headlined.

They are not stupid

Does anyone have a feeling that Muse might just be dropped as the Saturday headliner later this month and there will be a lot of disappointment going around? I feel like the rumours surrounding them have sort of vanished recently with Blur coming back, Elton John announcing a tour, and Kanye West becoming a new rumour, the timing'd be perfect

I'm sure there were several reasons why Muse couldn't headline this year. I know one was that they've been announced as Download Festival exclusives, but I realise that doesn't hold much water these days. I'm just saying it's unlikely.

I'm not worried man, as long as there was a decent alternative. I'll also put it out here that although they are popular, I can't see The Chem Bro's against Kanye being a great move if he did play. This is it, Eavis has gone on record and it's been noted that things got very tight the year that Jay-Z played that he wouldn't fancy trying that kind of thing again. I don't think another metal band would play but I still think AC/DC next year is very possible.

He has been open though Andy in fairness to say at the time of saying that they were exclusives. He hasn't closed the door on anyone else being able to book them and again, I feel Glasto is the only fest they'd allow to have them. Glasto do have that power that due to sell out anyway and the fact they wait to announce so it's normal for them, that they can work with the fact other fests want to sell tickets for acts 1st.

They only need to keep this quiet for another 4 weeks though.

Foos are only rock headliner?

....though I also agree with this. There are mitigating circumstances though, certainly the combination of Alt-J sucking all the air out of the field and the crowd around me being twat casserole was an atmosphere killer

PMSL I love the line great description lol

    • Spring (or early) next year now.   Says to me that the album is/was delayed. I've done some digging but not had anything beyond that.
    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
