Agreed. Worst "top 6" I can remember. Factor in the top 3 on the Other Stage, Hot Chip and Grace Jones (urgh) on the Holt's and it puts pressure on The Park to deliver decent top billing this year.

Special mention for whoever suggested The Stone Roses would only headline the Other.

Keithy!

*sigh*

It was in the context that I thought they might play Glastonbury but wouldn't be the Sunday Pyramid headliner (back when there was a thought we might behaving a pop headliner on Sunday with Madonna or Swift) so was trying to think where else they might feasibly play.

Election Day innit?

Schools are off.

Makes sense. That 'Troll' poster was doing it from 2.30am till 3.30am. It has to be Baggy doesn't it!? I sort of hope so!

My 3 favourite moments from this thread:

1 - The outing of Baggy as a complete liar via an IP check. That was great!

2 - How everyone turned on each other in a cannabalistic frenzy of downvote outing...!

3 - The whole super group thing. Some great collaborations came out of that!

Oh and also finally getting to see what Neil looks like. I honestly imagined him looking a bit like Barry Shitpeas from Weekly Wipe. Was good to put a face to the legend!

Been away all week so just catching up......

So The Who are headlining and the main cuffuffle seems to be that they had to cancel a gig in Paris on the Sunday night and people are, rightly so, a little disappointed that the band themselves and Glasto would think that an ok thing to do? Daft question by why not make an offer of a free Glastonbury ticket to anyone that had a ticket for Paris? I know Glastonbury's sold out but I'd have thought it would only be a small uptake and would surely appease the uberfans who would be most affected? Just a thought....

Glastonbury will have a max capacity that has already been filled.

I hope there's no fighting between the ageing mods there for The Who and Weller and the ageing rockers there for Foo Fighters and Motorhead. Could see a very ugly side to Glastonbury. :P

But they unite to fight the young rap fans on the Saturday? :P

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
