As much as I love them, a few years ago I would have said the same. But, there appears to be a lot of love and appreciation now being banded about for Mr Lynne and his back catalogue. Having said that if he were announced I can see a fair bit of derision in the mainstream press. His inclusion as a potential headliner is far more sane that a few of the other names being mentioned.

£70 is obscene, I don't think there's any artist I'd pay more than £50 for. Neil Young or Taylor Swift at a push, but I'd 100% draw the line at £60. Even if I was rich I'd see it as a piss-take.

Edit; and that's for floor seats/standing, mind, the best experience you can possibly have when on arena tiers is £30's worth (although I did shell out quite a bit for Leonard Cohen in the tiers, and that was excellent).

Not really obscene though he is a Beatle! Stones have been charging those prices for years. A lot of top tier acts have.

But the all seated thing means you're guaranteed to be further away unless you pay more. A lot more.

Very true! You could even take away the Pyramid, John Peel and Other, Glastonbury would still be unbeatable value, I'd think you'd have to hack off 90% of the fest before it wasn't worth the money.

I'm beginning to think any meaning to the whole, you can't one-up Glasto is because if they have Blur, and they couldn't keep them from Glasto as well.

And you know it isn't Prince or Macca. It's unlikely to be Coldplay. Glasto would keep things very tight lipped as well as although they don't care where someone else plays, if Blur at Glasto got leaked, anyone going but still thinking do I/don't I for BST suddenly won't give a shit about BST.

Fleetwood Mac and Prince on one line up would be sticking the boot into glastonbury, just a little bit. How deep are Giddings pockets? That would be one expensive set of headliners for a festival.
