It's almost time! Less than six weeks until the gates open, so it's time for this year's meet thread. A very official one this time 😎 The meet will take place at The Ridge & Furrow Bar in the Cabaret Field, at 6pm on Wednesday 26th of June. Thank you in advance to @Crazyfool01 who's kindly volunteered to orchestrate and represent eFests as I've not secured a ticket this year. We won't have the usual flag but we're open to any ideas to help identify the group. Maybe a new flag is needed, who knows! There may also be t-shirts and a competition so watch this space 😉 Any updates to times and location will be added to this post.

For anyone thinking of going alone, please reconsider. Once you get there and start seeing the name tags, you soon realise you're amongst the bunch of freaks you always suspected they were. Even the people you always see eye-to-eye with most of the time you'll find are sociapaths, in-person. We should stay behind our keyboards and phones more often, it's a much healthier way of communicating. You'll regret that you went, trust me.

The only unusual thing I packed last year was a cuddly toy dragon from my kids so that I could take it around the festival and put it places, take a photo and send pics to my kids (2 and 4). They love playing spot the dragon and getting the updates of what I'm up to.

Today the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting have released their first prediction for festival week. This forecast is updated every day for weeks up to 6 weeks’ range. Last year their prediction was spot on, above average temperatures with average rainfall (I got absolutely drenched on Wednesday morning last year). For their first forecast 6 weeks ahead, they’re going for the same again: above average temperatures with average rainfall. The best we can hope for at this stage.

I wheeled by trusty caravan out of it's slumber last week too 🙂 seems to have wintered OK, not damp and no mice 🙂 Some more repairs needed to one of the panels, which is coming away from the hinges - the frame for each panel is cheap wood that has just dry rotted away, I suspect when this was built circa 1982, nobody expected people like me to still be using it 40+ years later 🙂

Another walking advocate here. I realise it's not an answer that suits everyone, but having a dog is a great incentive to get out and hike. I'm lucky enough that it fits with my family/lifestyle and I live in beautiful countryside. That said, I'm still overweight (I blame my lack of will power when it comes to beer, crisps and pizza). Also started running again 2 weeks ago after over a decade off. 5th run today, up from 1.8 miles in 21 mins to 3 miles in 29 mins. In percentage terms, I'm staggered with the improvement. If I can get round a 10k in and hour or less before Glasto I'll be delighted.

I am getting more info all the time for the Clashfinder and will keep updating it - I changed a lot early yesterday morning after getting some info. This year I am arriving Wednesday so the last updates will be done either last thing Tuesday night or early Weds am before we leave. If I get anything after that it will not be added cos I am offline as soon as I arrive.............................. I totally agree with this - there’s plenty of places for DJ’s without taking over the live stages. I didn’t go but even Fatboy made sense given his history with the festival and his general longevity. But Peggy Gou is a bad fit in my opinion. Not for me, thanks!

I love dance music and DJs, but putting Fat Boy on The Park seems to have broken the seal and, for me, especially given the enormous variety and choice of DJs in the daytime and at night, I really feel that the five main stages 'should' have live acts headlining, even if those are live dance acts - Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, Justice etc. Just doesn't feel right to me. Those of us who support teams outside the premiership are generally happy not to have it. I watched Liverpool v Villa this week. Gakpo scores but it’s a really subdued celebration knowing there is a VAR check coming. It sucks the emotion out of a game and I’m glad they don’t have it at our level.

Yard Act sounds like exactly why I go to this festival. Just sounds like a guaranteed good time. First time since 2019, last group to get tickets and got lucky in the resale. Can't wait.
