it does feel like guesswork at this point. They aren't forced to have anyone fully locked down yet.

Even for that newspaper, though, it would very idiotic to get that stuff completely wrong i.e Styles plays, Swift doesn't.

What is the track record like for Newspapers going for it like this? Seem to recall The Sun being the worst for it (shock), but dunno if they're right with it more times than not, or what.

It's still mad early for this stuff.

They pretty much all speak sh*t.

Happy to help.

Can't discuss how much the Daily Mail has it's finger on the pulse without shoe-horning in this gem

TBF, the 3-4 years after that we're a rough ride (4 dot com redundancies/liquidations in 5 years for me), and another global news org eventually managed to kill MySpace... yeah, media and internet was never a good mix

None of the rags have a clue and it'll probably not be that trio, fun to discuss though.

Yeah. If Swift isn't active (dunno if she is, I avoid, where I can) it may just be a wild stab in the dark, pitching it as a one-off, and obviously the 2020 cancellation playing in.

If Oasis are in the mix, I'm not sure we'll get much between now and their dates dropping. They're doing a reasonably good job at keeping things tight lipped. The info I had last week was the first bit I can hang my hat on, and even that had no specific dates attached.

Would there?  From where to where?

You think there wouldn’t be a huge rush of demand for tickets or entry if either of those acts are announced?

There would be a huge rush for tickets - but then there always is.  Would it be tougher?  Maybe.  Depends what other shows they do to soak up the demand.  There are rumours of Oasis doing long runs at Knebworth, Parkhead and the Etihad so that would go some way to satisfying demand.

But then demand always outstrips supply.  The degree to which it does is probably unknown outwith the halls of Seetickets HQ.  My group and I struck out last time on the strength of the demand for The 1975, Shakey and O-Rod.  There'll always be folks missing out.

On the rush for entry, I dont envision any scenario where large-ish numbers of people travel to rural Somerset and attempt to storm the gates en masse.  Might be a few extra fence-jumpers here and there I guess.

The latter part - definitely not, that obviously isn't the Taylor Swift demographic. Oasis maybe, but there'd be no more than usual at it, given the amount of big gigs they'll be doing elsewhere.

Rush for tickets - absolutely. Not so much Oasis, but the Taylor Swift cult (I say tongue in cheek.. slightly) would swarm the sale.

I think if Swift was doing it, and it was known pre-sale; or at least heavily rumoured, it would be the worst sale to date.

Harry , Taylor , oasis would keep me at pyramid for headliners … much as it won’t be them that would be perfect …. And only really leaves Madonna I’d like to see on there

Yeah it's not a trio I could complain with and would to be there for all 3. Personally I dont think they would book both Taylor and Harry, I know they tried to book both Dua Lipa and Madonna the same year but Madonna is one they would go for regardless of how it look or how samey it seemed. Oasis will be a case of them wanting it, there is no way someone takes a spot from them if so. Them and Taylor I imagine would be the priority.

It arguably isn't a great mix now given that telling the difference between what's real and what isn't online is a daily hurdle.

Doesn't the Taylor Swift rumour come up every year?

Certainly, since the incident of 2020 cancelled that plan, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a regular rumour until it happens.

Were there any earlier rumours of a Swift tour in 2027 or is it too early to truly speculate on whatever she's up to?

Nick Grimshaw said on Sidetracked podcast he knows a headliner already so I would think they was booked even before 2025 or quite soon after. Was still surprised Sam Fender wasn’t one recently. Maybe waiting for his time after his album was out?

What's the Daily Mail's track record like? Don't they take a stab at guessing a headliner every year?

sh*t. Just within the last couple festivals, they've run "exclusive" stories naming Rihanna, Eminem, and Madonna as being lined up. And hell, it's likely that at least one of those did have discussions with the festival - but obviously none got locked in.

I’d say it’s no more or less likely to happen after their article! I don’t think they have a clue. If she is playing sincerely hope it’s not officially announced until after ticket day or getting tickets will be significantly harder than usual tho!

I reckon he's referring to Olivia Dean.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
