That will be Harry Styles he’s said about doing more of a traditional tour next year so they will be working on that plan.

Don't actually mind his new stuff, his old stuff nah. One thing I'll say is I dont think they will book Harry and Sabrina the same year as an intentional purpose anyway.

The Harry stans already on that tweet, they seem convinced. But then they all were convinced he'd crop up as a guest a few years back.

It does feel likely that it's him though.

Harry is sound. He's got a decent stage show. His writing team produces music that isn't awful, but f**k ME, it's a travesty if he headlines. Sadly, it's probably a sign of the times for the future. The Bowie comparisons are nothing short of embarrassing.

Pardon the pun?

It's definitely a sign of the times. I've never been into that manufactured pop that came from TV shows starting in the early 2000s. Now we have have the same dross headlining festivals. Simon fuller and Simon cowell definitely did bad things to the music industry just for their own gain. I mean obviously one direction can't really reform now, but is that the sort of thing we have to look forward to? But just having a moan tbh, plenty of other stages to be at 😜 am I just being miserable and grumpy?

Just watched this for the first time in about 15 years. Bit of a nothing docufilm, but quite cool for 90s nostalgics, it was me thinking I sound like Damon Albarn putting down pop idol towards the end, maybe he's my idol. I'd love a bit of Blur on the farm in the next few years 🤞

Oh yeah this was awsome -  The Jarvis interview was a cracker from what i remember

Recon we will get Damon on the farm in the next few fest at least -  which act he is fronting though......  thats the hard bit to guess

If he wasn't from one direction originally the comparisons wouldn't be seen as bad as they do. I still stand by Watermelon Sugar was a woeful song, no direction for the song at all, but sign of the times grew on me and so did aperture and his one after. If you book him and say Sabrina the same year its the same audience. At least like Chappell who I think won't do it btw would be different.

Lineup is not even out and we're moaning about it 😅

You’d think that people hadn’t seen the lineup for years and the ever growing new audience.

I’d not be watching Harry but he’s the most obvious headliner for next year that there is and would be a good booking for the festival

Ha, wasn't deliberate when Iwrote it, but was tickled by it. You're not being a grump, you're spot on, but hey ho. At least he seems like a nice guy.

There will be a lot of complaining about Harry Styles inevitable but - it is a big booking for Glastonbury he is one of the top tier acts out there at the moment and they are getting him in his prime.

Last bit's maybe debatable tbh given his new album has largely flatlined.

Shouldn’t be mentioned at the same time as Bowie.

Flatlined? if this is flatlined i think most music is dead, dont set the bar to high lol

Global: Surpassed 1 million units in the first week.
US Sales: 430,000 units in the first week (No. 1 on Billboard 200).
UK Sales: 183,045 units in the first week, with high vinyl sales (No. 1 on Official Albums Chart).
Chart Impact: Topped charts in over 20 countries, including Australia, Germany, France, and Canada.
Records: It marked the highest week-one sales for a UK act since Coldplay's Moon Music and the highest first-week vinyl sales for a UK artist this century.

It's all relative - it's already dropping out the charts, whereas his previous albums seemed to hang around for aeons.  Likewise Aperture didn't really capture the public imagination.

Maybe there's another song on the album that'll become another As It Was or Watermelon Sugar, but I dunno.

Im going to say with those album sales and 12 nights at Wembly .....  I think we can comfortably call Mr Styles in his prime - very few hit these height..

I think perhaps you are setting the bar far to high

Those dates were sold out on the back of his whole body of work before the album came out.  I agree it's a huge achievement, but unfortunately the new album is mid and so therefore he's squarely in his flop era.

Think we might have to massively agree to disagree on that - he is one of the biggest names in the world right now IMO

Of course he is - like I said, booking him would be a significant coup.  I was just debating whether or not he's at his absolute peak at this moment.

    • I've no issue with them making money either. However, one does have to wonder whether it aligns with the festival's green sustainability ethos - even if they are using fairtrade cotton.
    • Does anyone else think that Glastonbury could do with an onsite 'spoons?   (ducks head)
    • I'm sure us oldies tried to warn that this was inevitably the end consequence of digitisation.
    • A bit miffed that I thought a fallow year T was £25 but then progress through the system and it's an additional penny shy of six quid for postage.
