they'd have to clash it with Saturday night headliners across the festival you'd hope/imagine

Even then it would be carnage.

That's what it was last year in the Temple and it was complete roadblock at 11pm

aaaaah yes... the first of many posters that list 99.9% that i never heard of!

Yeah as someone who still mostly buys and listens to albums, this part of the lineup is always a wild west of unknown quantities for me. And really hard not to judge some acts by name alone - DJ f**koff is hardly encouraging me to give them a chance.

People who are excited about names on this lineup, please drop links to stuff the rest of us should be listening to so we can see what the fuss is about as I'm guessing the usual reliance on Spotify won't always work.

Usually in the Electronica & Dance thread someone makes a spreadsheet that says what genre each artist is, provides a link to a good example of one of their dj sets and says whether they are any good etc 🙂

Fred Again is flatmates with one of Joy Anonymous (Henry)

Hopefully the full stage lineups will outline who their 'friends' are and will help avoid it being rammed for the whole thing..

My view is that if I've heard of them they must be on their last legs.....the 0.1% includes Craig Charles (presumably on Thursday afternoon!) which is always a great start to the festival!

I feel like all the names that do ring a bell are just ones I remember reading from last year.

Obvs Bob Vylan, Knee Cap and Lister are the ones I know.

This is a comment on me btw, not the line up.

Arrivals looks like a stage entirely dedicated to Desi acts which is pretty cool and forward thinking.

Pretty excited about Blanco on Platform 23 (rapper from Kennington, Angolan heritage, draws a lot of his sounds from Brazillian music).

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
