Madona, Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, AC/DC, reformed Daft Punk....

If booking Kendrick when nobody else had him (bar his Thursday rehearsal gig) is only a Gold booking then The Weeknd cannot be a platinum booking. Not having it.

You'll be rescinding that Platinum status when her son Bertie is in the mix wearing a smock and a beret and pretending to be an artist.

I freely admit that if the thing that will never happen happened it would be unlikely to be the festival performance everyone wants but come on the hype for it would definitely be platinum level.

It's an argument I've been having for decades. I think GNR are very much Hair Metal, but I don't use the term at all pejoratively and have a wider definition of it than many and would also include Def Leppard and Bon Jovi. I do find it odd that anyone would think GNR aren't Hair Metal, when Motley Crue are more or les the definitive hair metal band - there's not a great deal to separate them.

As somebody who likes a lot of metal stuff I do not even classify GnR as metal. They're a bit tricky to place but a sort of hard pop rock is as good as they get from me.

I don’t reckon we’ll get anything about them until the main poster

Yeah, think we might get a Rod announcement at best, but starting to think they’re just gonna leave the headliners to be announced with the whole lot, perhaps tactically to dampen the inevitable moaning.

The first poster has been in early March in recent years hasn't it? Which seems soon. Well, relatively (though it doesn't stop me thinking every day "is today going to be the day we know something"?

Recent years have extenuating circumstances for it being early March -

2022 - The Balance payment window was first week of March.

2020 - The likelihood of having to cancel due to COVID forced their hand and caused them to go early.

Take those out of the equation and usual goes back to being late March or early April.

Booooooo!  I have convinced myself it's only a few weeks until poster drop.

    • Same here, when the lineup dropped it looked very strong but this year I’m considering more whether I buy tickets for enjoyment or fomo.   Speaking of that dilemma, I caved and bought a Turnstile Piece Hall ticket so I’ll see you there 😂
