Since the discussion has run out of steam I thought I'd throw in my two cents. We can categorise headliners into three distinct groups: Known knowns (Elton John) - confirmed, announced, set in stone Known unknowns (Arctic Monkeys) - tour dates aligning, history with the festival, act at the peak of their powers (although maybe not in a live setting) Unknown unknowns - Is there a curveball that hasn't been considered? What of the wildcard, the joker in the pack, the leftfield choice which has been kept so tightly under wraps we've not heard a peep?

This isn't even a personal preference thing, for example with Elton John - I won't be there as it's not my bag but I can completely respect that's a top tier booking. Anyone who considers Guns n' Roses a solid headliner should be clowned on

Think we need to put the brakes on people calling for Johnny Cash for the legends slot. A quick google will tell you he's no longer with us and hasn't been for some time - please at least carry out the most basic research 🙄
